Honda Updates ZR-V In Japan And Makes e:HEV System Standard, While The SUV Sold In Brazil Continues With 2.0 Gasoline Engine And Receives Adjustments For The 2026 Line. The Update Includes A New Cross Touring Version.
Honda has updated the ZR-V in Japan and, there, the SUV is now offered exclusively with hybrid powertrain.
According to information published by Motor1 and other specialized outlets, the model adopts the e:HEV system, the same used in Civic and Accord, and also gained a new option with a more adventurous visual proposal, called Cross Touring.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, the ZR-V continues in a single version with a 2.0 gasoline engine, still without official confirmation of a shift to electrification.

Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
Present in the Brazilian market since 2023, the ZR-V positions itself in a price range where hybrid and electric alternatives have been growing.
The movement in Japan occurs in this context, but so far, the consulted publications treat the change as part of a specific strategy for the Japanese market, with no public announcement from Honda regarding the adoption of the same setup for the ZR-V sold in Brazil.
Hybrid Powertrain e:HEV In Japanese ZR-V
According to the disclosed information, the Japanese ZR-V retains a 2.0 combustion engine but now operates on the Atkinson cycle, as is the case with the brand’s hybrid applications.
The setup is complemented by two electric motors and integrates the e:HEV architecture.

According to reports, the combined power output for the system is 181 hp.
Consumption figures have not been released in the published information so far, and Honda has not been cited as having disclosed efficiency numbers for this configuration of the ZR-V in Japan.
The update also generally preserves the model’s proposal.
The car’s design has not been presented as radically altered, with the novelty concentrated in the offering of versions and the shift to hybrid powertrain as standard in the Japanese market.
Cross Touring Version And Visual Changes
Among the versions announced in Japan, the Cross Touring is described as the style variant with a more “adventurous” style.
It replaces external trim that, in other versions, appears in glossy black with matte plastic pieces, including finishes on the bumper and wheel arches.
The package also adds protections on the sides and the lower part of the doors, items commonly used to differentiate versions with a more robust visual appeal.
The reports highlight that the changes are concentrated in the appearance and external details, without indicating specific alterations in off-road capability or unique mechanical adjustments for this version.
Front Grille, Versions, And All-Wheel Drive In Japan
In the other Japanese versions, the most mentioned visual distinction is in the front grille, which can appear with vertical bars or in a “honeycomb” style.
This “honeycomb” pattern is noted as similar to that applied on the Touring version currently offered in Brazil.
Another described point is the possibility to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive in the ZR-V sold in Japan, depending on the configuration.
The consulted reports do not detail how all-wheel drive performs in all versions, but register the availability of this option in the Japanese catalog.
2026 Line Of The ZR-V In Brazil And Standard Equipment
In the Brazilian market, the 2026 line of the ZR-V received specific adjustments in equipment and configuration, without altering the mechanical setup.
Reports published in 2025 and 2026 note the replacement of the 17-inch alloy wheels with 18-inch wheels, now featuring a diamond design.

In addition, there was a reduction in the number of colors offered, with the catalog now focusing on fewer shades.
Among the colors cited in reports are Titanium Gray, Aurora Blue, and Crystal Black.
Connectivity has also been updated with the inclusion of Wireless Android Auto, an item that has become part of the equipment list for the 2026 model in the country, according to publications that followed the change on the brand’s website and in automotive sector materials.
2026 Honda ZR-V Price And SUV Positioning
Regarding price, reports published this year note that the 2026 ZR-V has seen an increase of R$ 600 and is now sold for R$ 215,100, maintaining the single version strategy, the Touring.
The update occurred after the launch of the 2026 model year, announced in October 2025.
The publications also indicate that the ZR-V remains imported and maintains positioning close to other midsize SUVs, in a context where price and content variations are often decisive in comparing models in the segment.
2.0 Engine, Inmetro Consumption, And ZR-V Dimensions
The ZR-V sold in Brazil continues with the naturally aspirated 2.0 gasoline engine, with 161 hp at 6,500 rpm and 19.1 kgfm at 4,200 rpm, according to specifications repeated in reports and guides for the model.
The transmission is CVT, with a simulation of seven gears.
In terms of consumption, the numbers disclosed in the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program and cited by specialized outlets are 10.2 km/l in the city and 12.1 km/l on the highway, always using gasoline.
As for the dimensions, reports about the 2026 ZR-V point to 4.57 m in length and 2.65 m in wheelbase.
The trunk is described as having 389 liters, and the fuel tank has 53 liters.
There is also mention of the curb weight of 1,446 kg and the ground clearance of 17.7 cm, in content detailing the model’s specs in Brazil.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid In Brazil: What Is Known So Far
Although the Japanese ZR-V has migrated to the e:HEV system, there is no public confirmation, in the consulted sources, that the same change will be applied to the vehicle sold in Brazil.
The reports emphasize that the ZR-V sold here is imported from Mexico and follows a configuration aligned with the product offered in other markets, which helps explain why the national line has not yet received a hybrid option.
