With A More Robust Design, Technological Interior, And Everlasting Reliability, The New Generation Of The Medium SUV From Toyota Is Expected To Arrive In Brazil In 2026 To Intensify The Competition In The Segment.
Toyota is preparing for an offensive in the medium SUV market in Brazil. The Japanese brand confirmed the arrival of the sixth generation of the RAV4, its most successful global utility, for the first quarter of 2026. Completely redesigned with a robust technological package, the new Toyota SUV in Brazil is aimed directly at leading the Jeep Compass, in addition to facing growing competition from Chinese models like the GWM Haval H6 and the BYD Song Plus.
The new RAV4 comes as a serious option, combining the already well-known hybrid efficiency with a look and finish that the current generation has been lacking.
A Completely New SUV Inside And Out

The most impactful change in the new generation is undoubtedly its appearance. The Toyota RAV4 2026 has abandoned the rounder shapes and adopted a more muscular and imposing style, in line with the brand’s latest launches.
-
The car stored for 38 years: when opening the barn door, what appears is breathtaking and looks like a scene from a movie!
-
Fiat works miracles in the Brazilian market, lowers the price of its 0 km hatch to R$ 69,990, reestablishes the model as the cheapest car in the country, and reignites the battle against Kwid and C3.
-
Chevette with cooking gas: How the gas cylinder ends up being used in cars clandestinely and why this makeshift solution can result in leaks, explosions, damaged engines, and seized vehicles.
-
Fiat launches the new 2027 Toro hybrid with 48V, 176 hp, an electric motor of 15.5 hp, a 0.85 kWh battery, up to 7% fuel savings, 8% fewer emissions, and possible exemption from IPVA.
- Robust Design: The front now features a new LED signature in a “C” shape and a more aggressive front grille. The sides have gained striking creases, and the wheels can be 18 or 20 inches.
- Optimized Dimensions: The car has subtly grown, measuring 4.62 meters in length but maintaining a good wheelbase of 2.69 meters. The result is a visibly more robust and imposing stance.
Inside, the revolution was complete. The leap in technology and finishing was necessary and puts the RAV4 on par with more modern competitors. The dashboard now has horizontal lines, a higher central console, and high-quality materials. The highlight is the new set of screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a floating multimedia center that can go up to 14 inches, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Among the new technologies, the highlight is the remote parking function, which allows the driver to maneuver the car using just a smartphone, without needing to be inside the vehicle.
Hybrid Engine: The Strategy Is Efficiency

Toyota’s strategy continues to focus on hybridization, but now with options for different consumer profiles. All versions will be electrified.
- Conventional Hybrid (HEV): The entry-level version is expected to maintain the 2.5 gasoline engine combined with electric motors, generating 222 horsepower combined, with a total focus on efficiency and low consumption.
- Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): The big news is the powerful version that can be recharged from a power outlet. With a 2.5 engine and a stronger electric unit (150 kW), the system delivers 304 horsepower. The performance is impressive: 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Thanks to a new 22.7 kWh battery, the range in pure electric mode can exceed 100 km.
Toyota also plans to launch a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, which promises even more power and range in electric mode, but its technical details have yet to be revealed. The focus of the setup, however, is not on sportiness, but rather on low fuel consumption.
Prices And Competitors: The Competition Will Be Fierce
The arrival of the new RAV4 in 2026 promises to further heat one of the most competitive battles in the Brazilian market. The estimated price range should match current values, positioning the model in a premium tier.
- Hybrid Versions (HEV): Estimated prices around R$ 350,000.
- Plug-in Hybrid Version (PHEV): Prices that may exceed R$ 400,000.
With these values, the list of rivals is strong and diverse. In addition to the leader Jeep Compass (which will also have a new generation soon), the RAV4 will directly face the GWM Haval H6, the BYD Song Plus, the Honda CR-V, and the newly launched Mitsubishi Outlander.
The new RAV4 bets on Toyota’s reliability image and a more modern and equipped project to stand out.
