Presidente Prudente Launches New Public Transport With Express Lines to Improve Urban Mobility.

The new public transport of Presidente Prudente starts operation at 6 AM on January 1, 2026, marking the beginning of a comprehensive overhaul of the bus system in Presidente Prudente.

The change, led by the Municipal Department of Urban Mobility (Semob), begins with the activation of the express lines in Presidente Prudente.

Operated by the company SOU Prudente, the goal is to reduce travel time, make trips more direct, and improve urban mobility in Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo.

The choice of the first day of the year, according to the city hall, aims to facilitate the population’s adaptation.

As passenger flow tends to be lower during this period, the expectation is that users will be able to understand the workings of the new urban public transport in SP more calmly, especially in this initial phase of transition.

Gradual Implementation Marks the Start of the New System

According to Semob, the implementation of the new public transport in Presidente Prudente was planned progressively.

Thus, the process started months earlier, with community engagement actions, a public hearing, and the dissemination of changes throughout December.

“For this transition, Semob developed a gradual implementation schedule, which has been followed since the announcement of the intention to change.

The process included community engagement, a public hearing, and dissemination during December.

The department presented the main points of the new system, such as the creation of express lines. Now, on the first day of January, these lines will officially start operating,” explained Semob Secretary, Adauto Bibiano.

According to him, this is only the first stage.

The express lines of Presidente Prudente will initially be incorporated into the schedule for user adaptation.

Starting from the second half of January, Semob will gradually add new lines and remove others.

How the Express Lines in Presidente Prudente Work

The express lines will be identified by the letter X (X01, X02, X03, and so on) and are designed to provide shorter and more direct routes.

The new bus system in Presidente Prudente connects the main terminals in the city with fewer intermediate stops, increasing travel efficiency and reducing overall travel time.

This logic follows modern urban mobility trends in Presidente Prudente and other cities with urban public transport in SP, prioritizing fluidity and integration between regions.

Routes of the Express Lines

Line X01: Terminal do Ana Jacinta → Terminal da Zona Leste, passing through the terminals of Zona Sul, Museu, 9 de Julho, and Central.

Line X02: Terminal da Zona Leste → Terminal do Ana Jacinta, with the reverse route of X01.

Line X03: Terminal da Zona Oeste → Terminal da Zona Leste, via the terminals of Museu, 9 de Julho, and Central.

Also, there is Line X04: Terminal da Zona Leste → Terminal da Zona Oeste, passing through Central, 9 de Julho, and Museu.

And Line X05: Terminal João Domingos Netto → Terminal Damha, via Zona Norte, 9 de Julho, and HR.

Line X06: Terminal Damha → Terminal João Domingos Netto, with the reverse route of X05.

Line X07: Terminal do Ana Jacinta → Terminal da 9 de Julho, passing through Zona Sul, Damha, and HR.

Line X08: Terminal da 9 de Julho → Terminal do Ana Jacinta, with the reverse route of X07.

Timetable of the Express Lines

Semob distributed the departures throughout the day to meet different profiles of urban public transport users in SP.

The lines X01 and X02 operate with regular intervals between morning and night, while lines X03 to X08 have departures from the early hours of the day until early evening, ensuring broad coverage of the new public transport in Presidente Prudente.

Where the Bus Terminals Are Located

The terminals that integrate the bus system in Presidente Prudente are strategically distributed throughout the city.

Among them are the Central Terminal, on Avenida Brasil; the Terminal do Ana Jacinta, at the access roundabout to the neighborhood; the terminals of the East, West, North, and South zones; in addition to the terminals of HR, Museu, Damha, and João Domingos Netto, all located on easily accessible roads and urban integration points.

Change Aims to Improve Urban Mobility

Moreover, with the start of the new model, the city hall is betting on a leap in quality in urban mobility in Presidente Prudente.

The expectation is that the system will become more efficient, predictable, and aligned with the current needs of the population, strengthening public transport as a viable alternative to individual transport.

Thus, the operation of the new system marks an important step towards modernizing urban public transport in SP, placing Presidente Prudente among the inland cities investing in faster, integrated, and functional solutions for the daily commuting of its population.
