Petrobras Launches Opportunities for Acquiring Solutions with an Investment of R$ 21.2 Million. Selected Companies Can Receive Up to R$ 1.6 Million to Validate Innovative Solutions
Petrobras launched new opportunities for contracting innovative solutions this morning (07/04), with an investment of up to R$ 21.2 million, aimed at technology companies and startups. This is the start of the module “Acquisition of Solutions”, which in this cycle selects innovations in the areas of robotics, inspection technologies, and digital technologies.
Applications will be accepted until 07/31, and companies can receive up to R$ 1.6 million per proposal for the development and testing of solutions in production environments.
The selection process for companies includes a pre-evaluation by a panel of experts, followed by a technical mentoring phase to improve the work plan, business model, and preparation for a pitch day, where companies present their proposals to a panel of managers and specialists from Petrobras. In the evaluation, criteria such as the business model, implementation of the solution at the end of the project, consistency and competitiveness of the proposal, impact and value generation, scalability, and scope of the solution are considered.
-
Petrobras evaluates suspension of sales to distributors and considers canceling the cooking gas auction following guidelines from the Federal Government.
-
Lula reveals a masterstroke by Petrobras to undo a deal made by Bolsonaro, which involves the return of an important refinery that currently produces less than half of what was expected and makes Brazil dependent on international diesel.
-
A study confirms that the natural gas sector will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Brazil by 0.5% and accelerate the energy transition by 2026.
-
Petrobras implements a severe adjustment and confirms a 55% increase in the price of aviation kerosene with a proposal for installment payments for the companies.
The First Selection in This Model Was Launched in 2021 by Petrobras
The first selection in this model was launched in 2021 by Petrobras. Among the selected companies, seven have already been contracted through CPSIs – Public Contracts for Innovative Solutions, an instrument that brought agility to contracting processes and had rules incorporated into Petrobras’s Procurement Regulation (RLCP).
CPSIs will have a term of up to 12 months, extendable for another 12, for the validation of technological solutions. After the innovation contract, the solution with the best performance, which has shown to add value to Petrobras’s business, can be contracted for a period of two years, extendable for another two years, for large-scale supply. These two phases together will expedite the implementation of solutions within the company and the consolidation of new suppliers in the market.
By introducing this new dynamic, the module “Acquisition of Solutions” replaces the previous one, known as Solution Testing. Another novelty is the launch of smaller sets of challenges, periodically, increasing the frequency of interaction with the innovation ecosystem.
The Connections for Innovation Program Already Includes Eight Different Modules
Since its launch, the Petrobras Connections for Innovation program already includes eight different modules: Technological Partnerships, Technology Transfer, Ignition, Technological Orders, Startups, Acquisition of Solutions, Open Lab and Residents. The last two are new, recently launched. The modules aim to accelerate innovation by connecting the company with the entire ecosystem, from startups, R&D institutions, universities to companies, based on demands mapped internally by the corporate and business areas.
Petrobras currently has a portfolio of over R$ 3 billion contracted, with more than 150 technological partners, in various hiring modalities and cooperation agreements.
