The Debut of the Corolla Cross as a Super SUV in the Stock Car Pro Series Reveals How Cutting-Edge Technology and Brazilian Engineering Come Together in a Bold Project That Raises the Standard of National Competitions and Promises to Shake Up the Market.

Toyota unveiled the Corolla Cross Stock Car, an unprecedented super sports version of the SUV that promises to revamp the Stock Car Pro Series in 2025.

With an impressive 500 hp, carbon fiber body, and a sequential transmission system, the model combines the versatility of a crossover with the performance of trophy cars — a combination that reinforces its pioneering performance in visual and technological aspects.

Corolla Cross Stock Car and Toyota’s Entry into the 2025 Grid

The Corolla Cross Stock Car debuts based on the new Audacetech SNG01 tubular platform — developed by Audacetech, ArcelorMittal, IPT, and SENAI.

This is a lighter formula (approximately 200 kg below older models), featuring a turbo four-cylinder engine, around 500 hp, a DRS system, 5G connectivity, and a stiffer tubular chassis.

Consolidated by Toyota Gazoo Racing — present in Stock Car since 2020 with the Corolla sedan (49 wins and 141 podiums) — the Corolla Cross Stock Car is seen as a milestone: replacing the sedan layout with a lighter, modern, and competitive SUV.

Racing SUV with Light Structure and Aggressive Aerodynamics

The body, distinctly a racing SUV, was produced by the Brazilian company Magna Compósitos, using carbon fiber, kevlar, aramid, and fiberglass — all recognized for their lightness and strength.

The result is a radically designed crossover: flared wheel arches, strategic air intakes on the hood, a rear extractor, and a movable wing worthy of GT and Formula cars.

This approach maximizes performance in curves and straights, with adjustable downforce and aerodynamic balance, elements that are increasingly relevant in high-level competition.

500 hp with Competition Transmission

The 2.1 turbo engine, fueled by Podium gasoline, delivers around 500 hp to the rear-wheel-drive system, coupled with a XTrac six-speed sequential transmission — typical of racing cars and featuring ultra-fast shifts via paddles.

This means explosive accelerations, comparable to the elite categories of global motorsport, and maintaining high pace between corners.

Independent Suspension and High-Performance Brakes

The independent suspension on all four wheels follows a double wishbone layout with a pushrod system, equipped with adjustable Penske Racing dampers.
Ideal for fine-tuning on different tracks.

For braking, the setup consists of ventilated discs from Hipper Freios, Cobreq pads, and AP Racing calipers (six pistons at the front and four at the rear), all designed to withstand extreme demands of continuous use.

5G Connectivity and Real-Time Sensing

In the cockpit, the Corolla Cross Stock Car is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G system, capturing real-time data about the engine, brakes, and tire pressure — valuable information for teams and broadcast to the audience.

The digital dashboard features dozens of functions, and a 360º internal camera promises immersive and dynamic content for fans, in addition to an exclusive category app.

Corolla Cross becomes a super machine with 500 hp, sequential transmission, 5G, and carbon fiber in Stock Car. The SUV now races like never before!

Brazilian Engineering at the Heart of the Corolla Cross Stock Car

The project received contributions from several Brazilian companies: body compartment by Magna Compósitos; reinforced tubular chassis by ArcelorMittal; suspension and engine components by MTR Performance Parts (RS); wheels by Mangels; and process control via AI by Tractian.

This integration highlights the relevance of national engineering in a global product — historic in innovation and technological advancement.

Stock Car with Racing SUV: The New Era of the Category

The Corolla Cross Stock Car enters the grid alongside the Chevrolet Tracker and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, all based on the Audace SNG01 platform.
The decision reflects a strategic turnaround: sedans have given way to lightweight turbo SUVs, with less weight and more technology.

On the track, the competition promises to be tight: Stock Car claims that the entire grid will have a time difference between cars of less than half a second per lap, even with different body formats.

Even though it is a racing SUV, the Toyota Corolla Cross Stock Car reinforces the slogan “What wins on Sunday sells on Monday” — paving the way for sportier street versions, such as a potential GR Corolla Cross. Participation in a mass category can boost acceptance of track-inspired versions.
