The startup eAgro, from Ribeirão Preto, was the company chosen by Ocyan to develop a pilot project for the Cooperative of Rural Producers of Presidente Tancredo Neves (Coopatan – Odebrecht Foundation) in Southern Bahia.
The startup competed with two others and emerged as the best evaluated by Innosciense, a consultancy that supports Ocyan oil and gas in its relationship with Brazil’s innovation ecosystem. eAgro has until December this year to deliver the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

The challenge of the proposal is to improve the management of the cooperative’s production and optimize the traceability of Coopatan’s products – Odebrecht Foundation. “This is a collaborative way to generate value for both institutions and, mainly, to directly contribute to increasing efficiency, sparking the innovative spirit for the Cooperative,” says Roberto Bischoff, president of Ocyan. “Ocyan Waves is already yielding important results for technical and operational challenges in our company, and I am convinced it will also be a success in the third sector, by bringing more technology to the challenges faced by young people in the field, optimizing processes, reducing costs, and attracting new partners,” he adds, followed by Fabio Wanderley, Superintendent of the Foundation.
“The partnership with Ocyan was extremely important for bringing innovation to our Social Program, PDCIS,” he stated.
The choice of the startup took place virtually, through a “Pitch Day,” held with the support of Innosciense. “It was the first time I attended a Pitch Day. We could see very innovative ideas and young talents seeking to address our challenges. This is a very interesting methodology that allows us to observe different solutions for the same problem,” notes Louise Franco, Sustainability Manager at the Odebrecht Foundation.
Juscelino Macedo, president of the Cooperative, explains that the institution’s goal is to bring technology to the field in an accessible way. “Our members are on their rural properties and often do not have easy access to the internet. We want a system that can manage production offline and be at hand. The Pitch Day was very enriching, and we selected the startup that best adapted to our working philosophy,” he concludes.
