A man who worked on board for Petrobras died on Easter Sunday, aboard the ship where he was staying, in the Campos Basin
Petrobras confirms the death of Luciano de Carvalho Pinto, 42, who was found passed out in his cabin on the Skandi Achiever diving vessel at 17:45 pm last Sunday. Luciano was presumed dead from a massive heart attack, through a videoconference mediated by nurses on board, where a doctor attested that the worker had died of a sudden illness, but the family alleges negligence and lack of adequate care, and says that the taifeiro was still alive when he was rescued by nurses. Petrobras denies that there was a service failure.
According to Sindipetro-NF, reports are that the worker complained of severe chest pain but was ignored. In a text that circulated via whatsapp, a woman present at Luciano's funeral, held on Tuesday, and who identifies herself as the wife of a colleague of his, who also worked onboard, says that not even the resuscitation techniques were applied and that the worker would have actually died only on Monday, which would imply that Luciano had been placed in a refrigerator still alive.

By note, Petrobras mourned the death of the worker, who according to the state-owned company worked for a third-party company Uniflex Group – Catering & Supply Services, which provided services for the oil company. Uniflex said that Luciano suffered a sudden heart attack, that there were no failures in the rescue and is providing support to the family.
Sindipetro-NF reported that the man's body was placed in a refrigerator and the vessel moved to Porto do Açu, in São João da Barra, arriving on land at dawn on Monday, April 22, when it was delivered to the Fire Department, which took him to the IML in Campos.
According to information from the 5th Group of Firefighters in Campos, he confirmed that he carried out the removal after 20:20 pm on Monday, and sent the already lifeless body to the IML.
According to the coordinator of the union's Department of Health, Alexandre Vieira, Sindipetro is going to demand more clarification about the case from the authorities involved and requests that workers who have information about the case contact the union.
Luciano's social profile on Facebook indicates that he had been an employee of Uniflex since November 2017 and worked as a maritime cabin boy, a position in charge of tidying up and cleaning a vessel.
