Smart Appliances Will Have One UI and Enhanced Security Until 2031

On August 26, 2025, in São Paulo, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the expansion of the One UI interface for its line of smart appliances.

The new feature promises to unite smartphones, televisions, and home appliances into a unique and seamless software experience. This decision expands the company’s ecosystem and ensures seven years of software updates.

This support begins with models launched in September 2024, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to long-term technology and an integrated experience across all devices.

Unified Experience Across All Devices

Strategically, Samsung aims to provide consistency in the user interface across all product categories. Thus, features such as Bixby, Gallery, and Samsung TV Plus will be available.

These services can be used on multiple screens, allowing for total integration. Additionally, connectivity with SmartThings strengthens the ecosystem, linking appliances in solutions such as Family Care, Pet Care, and Home Care.

  • Now Brief: provides personalized information such as weather forecasts, family schedules, recipes, and washing machine status.
  • Updated One UI Design: present on smartphones, TVs, and appliances, ensures simpler and more intuitive navigation.

According to Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President of Research and Development, the integration makes the experience “feel natural and familiar across all Samsung devices.”

Seven Years of Guaranteed Support

Samsung’s smart appliances with Wi-Fi connectivity will feature software updates for up to seven years. This commitment extends product durability and strengthens security.

This measure enhances the functionality of devices over time. Thus, consumers can have greater confidence in acquiring products that stay updated for many years.

The initiative reinforces Samsung’s strategy to extend the lifecycle of its equipment and meet the demand for technological longevity.

Updates Available Starting with Models Launched in September 2024

According to Samsung, devices launched in September 2024 will be the first to receive improvements in security, artificial intelligence, and interface.

Among the highlights are advancements in various areas:

  • Enhanced Security: the Knox Matrix system, based on blockchain, reaches refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and air conditioning units.
  • Models with screens, such as the Family Hub, will support encrypted credentials and real-time monitoring through the Knox Security panel.
  • Smart Features: the AI Vision Inside function will now recognize packaged and fresh foods more accurately.
  • Bixby now offers Voice ID, identifying different voices on shared devices and providing more personalized experiences.
  • Service Expansion: Samsung TV Plus will be expanded to Brazil, Canada, and India.
  • Washing machines with a 7” screen will receive support for new Indian languages such as bengali, punjabi, and gujarati.
  • Refined Interface: appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, and washing machines launched in 2024 will feature the same enhanced design already seen in 2025 devices.

These changes ensure greater integration among devices, more smart features, and advanced security for the consumer.

Smart and Secure Home of the Future

By integrating One UI into smartphones, TVs, and appliances, Samsung solidifies its vision of a smart, connected, and secure home. Additionally, the company focuses on a unified experience, with familiar interfaces and personalized services. Therefore, the user enjoys a centralized control, regardless of the type of screen or device used.

For this reason, starting in September, Samsung is entering a new phase for smart appliances. In this sense, this stage promises continuous innovation, enhanced digital protection, and integrated technology. With this, the company elevates the standard of household routines.

Even though each device has specific functions, the convergence among them becomes real. Thus, everything will be synchronized, making use easier and optimizing time.

Consequently, the future points to a fully connected routine. Thus, all household tasks will be interconnected seamlessly, securely, and efficiently.

After all, how can one imagine a routine without total connectivity between smart devices?
