Online Training by OpenAI Offers Free Course for Teachers and Teaches How to Use ChatGPT Safely, Strategically, and with Pedagogical Focus, with Flexible Classes and Practical Content.

The OpenAI has opened registrations for a free course that teaches teachers to use ChatGPT strategically in primary education. The training is available in Brazil and can be done at the participant’s own pace, which increases access for those who already face a busy routine in schools.

The training was created to strengthen the digital qualification of educators. Additionally, it addresses the responsible use of artificial intelligence, a topic increasingly discussed in public and private education networks.

The content is hosted on the Coursera platform and includes five hours of classes organized into seven modules.

Additionally, participants complete eight activities evaluated by artificial intelligence throughout the course. This format allows them to test their learning while progressing through the modules.

Is There More Than One Course or Is This a Unique Training?

The initiative is part of a specific program, so it is called ChatGPT Fundamentals for Teachers.

It is, therefore, a training structured in seven sequential modules, which include:

Essential Technical Concepts
Pedagogical Applications
Ethical Use and Institutional Guidelines
Final Assessment

Thus, it is not a catalog of standalone courses. It is an organized path to develop progressive mastery of the tool in the school context.

Will Those Who Complete Receive a Certificate Valid in Brazil?

The program is in a pilot phase. Therefore, the completion certificate is not yet issued for participants in Brazil.

Nevertheless, the content can add value to the resume. After all, mastery of artificial intelligence applied to education is already considered a differentiator in selection processes and internal performance evaluations.

The course is conducted in English. However, it offers subtitles and dubbing in Portuguese, which increases accessibility.

The activities can be done with any version of ChatGPT, free or paid.
