Furnas:
The Furnas Hydroelectric Plant was the first plant built by the Company, from which it inherited its name. The dam is located in the middle course of the Rio Grande, in the stretch known as “Corredeiras das Furnas,” between the municipalities of São José da Barra and São João Batista do Glória, in Minas Gerais. It has an installed capacity of 1216 MW.
Mascarenhas Moraes:
The history of the Mascarenhas de Moraes Plant, formerly known as Peixoto, dates back to 1947, ten years before the founding of FURNAS, when the Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) faced the threat of exhausting its generation capacity. Its capacity is 476 MW.
