The Brazilian market for 100% electric cars is entering a new phase in 2025. Even with the gradual return of the import tax and challenges in national production, the segment continues to grow. According to industry data, the country recorded 30,483 licensed units in just the first half, an increase of 33% compared to the same period in 2024.
Although the share of electric vehicles represents only 2.5% of light vehicle sales, the increasing presence of foreign brands shows that the Brazilian public is more willing to invest in electric mobility. Most models come from China and Europe, while manufacturers such as BYD, GWM, and Stellantis are already announcing plans to manufacture electrified vehicles in national territory in the coming years.
