Meet The 5-Stroke Engine That’s Changing The Way We Transport Ourselves, Offering A Sustainable And Efficient Solution To Replace Fossil Fuels

The world is facing a delicate environmental crisis, driven by the devastating climate changes in recent years. This has led various industries to engage more and make decisions for the sake of the environment. The automotive sector has stood out by replacing traditional fossil fuels and combustion engines with more sustainable alternatives.

A Radical Change In The Automotive Industry: Meet This New Engine

For a long time, electric vehicles have stood out as the most sustainable and eco-friendly. Later, hydrogen-powered cars also gained significant prominence in this energy transition. However, a new innovation has just emerged that promises to end fossil fuels.

It is important to mention the imminent danger posed by fossil-derived fuels, which have a high rate of greenhouse gas emissions, amplifying climate change and its devastating repercussions worldwide. For this reason, several countries have signed international treaties to curb the use of these fuels.

As an alternative, a new engine has emerged that promises to completely eliminate the use of these fuels. We are talking about the engine that could mean a radical change in the way we transport ourselves. This innovative engine has the potential to transform the automotive industry and significantly reduce our dependence on polluting fuels.

All The Details You Need To Know About This Engine

First of all, this engine presented by AVL Recetech’s competition department can reach extremely high speeds while maintaining a low rate of harmful gas emissions. This innovative invention could be one of the few ways to replace traditional combustion engines and eliminate all the problems associated with them.

When talking about its operation, it is important to mention that Efficient Hydrogen Motors (EHM) introduced this innovation with a 5-stroke cycle, which not only surprises the entire automotive sector but may also diminish the advantages that traditional hydrogen engines had since they shared the same structure as thermal engines.

This five-stroke engine adds an extra step beyond intake, compression, combustion, and finally, the exhaust stage. Now, this additional step serves to recover energy from the exhaust gases in a second cylinder, which would provide greater efficiency by using residual energy to cause its operation without the need for more fuel.

What Is Its Energy Performance?

According to Híbridos y Eléctricos, the company asserts that this new model will not only improve performance but also allow for greater energy efficiency, with figures exceeding 50% over conventional engines, which have an efficiency rating of 37%. Additionally, the mentioned company plans to manufacture a new model with a power of 360 hp.

To make this possible, EHM will need to raise the impressive amount of 100 million euros in just 3 years if it intends to start the operation of this production plant, which will be located in Châteaulin, Finistère. First and foremost, the company will focus on producing electric generators and later implement them in heavy transport, such as cargo trucks and fishing boats.

The creation of this engine holds a prominent place among the most promising innovations in this extensive fight against climate change and the never-ending dependence on fossil fuels. This new innovation could revolutionize not only the automotive industry but also mark the beginning of an era of sustainable transportation due to its carbon emission neutrality.
