Transforming wood into art is already impressive. However, turning wood into a functional mini Rolls-Royce, capable of driving on the streets, elevated this concept to another level. That is exactly what Truong Van Dao did, a talented carpenter who went viral for building a luxury car on a smaller scale for his own son.
The information was reported by specialized automotive and digital culture portals, based on content published on the NDWoodArt YouTube channel. According to reports, the project took 120 days to complete and drew attention not only for its finish but also for the strong emotional appeal involved.
From the beginning, Dao made it clear that the goal was not just to create a decorative object. On the contrary, he wanted to build a drivable vehicle, inspired by modern Rolls-Royce models, such as the Phantom and the Ghost, respecting proportions, visual details, and even symbolic elements of the brand.

From Floor to Steering Wheel: The Construction Process
First of all, the carpenter started the project with the vehicle’s base. The floor received reinforcements with a metal chassis, which ensured stability and strength. Next, Dao installed axles, a functional motor, and a steering system, turning the initial idea into a truly drivable car.
To maintain fidelity to the original design, he used a full-size mold, placed on the workshop floor, which served as a guide for cutting and fitting the wooden pieces. Additionally, Dao employed various tools, such as a small chainsaw, electric chisel, and finishing equipment, ensuring precision in the details.
Throughout the process, each element was carefully shaped. The windows, headlights, and front grille, one of the most iconic symbols of Rolls-Royce, received special attention. In fact, the carpenter found six wheels in a yard, cleaned them, and then adapted them to the mini car’s axles.
Thus, step by step, the project took shape and began to impress those following the process on social media.
Detailed Interior and Classic Rolls-Royce Symbols
In addition to the exterior, the interior of the mini Rolls-Royce also stood out. The dashboard was made entirely by hand, with gauges, a speedometer, and even air vents sculpted from wood. The level of detail surprised even enthusiasts of the British brand.
The steering wheel, made from dark polished wood, features the Rolls-Royce logo at the center, reinforcing the car’s visual identity. Additionally, Dao included license plates and a wooden version of the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy sculpture, found in all models from the luxury manufacturer.
These details helped elevate the project from a simple toy to a true work of handcrafted art, blending creativity, technique, and a passion for cars.
Success on Social Media and Emotion in the Final Result
After 120 days of intense work, the mini Rolls-Royce was finally completed. In the video published on YouTube, Dao is seen driving the car alongside his son, in a moment that moved the audience and reinforced the project’s emotional value.
As a result, the construction quickly went viral on social media, attracting millions of views, comments, and shares. Car enthusiasts, woodworking fans, and curious onlookers began to follow the NDWoodArt channel, which was already known for other unusual projects.
In addition to the mini Rolls-Royce, Truong Van Dao had previously created a wooden Tesla Cybertruck, a concept car inspired by Apple, and even a model based on a time machine, always using handcrafted techniques and extreme creativity.
In this way, the carpenter established his reputation as one of the most original creators on YouTube, merging artisanal engineering, automotive design, and emotional stories.
