The Riverine People of the Pantanal, Who Will Be the Biggest Beneficiaries of Energisa and Aneel, Are Eagerly Awaiting the Supply of Solar Energy to Start in the First Semester of This Year

The National Electric Energy Agency – Aneel, in partnership with the Government of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul and Energisa, decided to bring solar energy to the Pantanal region. The Pantanal Receives Investment in Renewable Energy from the State Government

The current Secretary of the Government of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel, explained that the partnership among the State Government, Aneel, and Energisa is focused on helping the people living in the Pantanal region, aiming to serve about 2,000 consumer units located in that area.

Due to the difficulty of access to these areas, the project aims to bring more communication and technology to the residents, so that the region can feel more comfortable having a more reliable and low-consumption energy network from now on. Aneel assures that very soon everyone will be able to celebrate the arrival of solar energy.

“With the implementation of solar energy, we serve the people and reconcile nature and technology” reported the state secretary.

The contract between the companies and the state government is expected to be signed by mid-March, and the execution of the works should begin immediately after this contract is signed.

Solar Energy Will Generate More Than 147 Thousand Jobs in Brazil in 2021, Projects ABSOLAR

Projections from the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) indicate that the photovoltaic solar source should generate more than 147,000 new jobs for Brazilians in 2021, spread across all regions of the country. According to the agency’s assessment, private new investments in the sector could exceed R$ 22.6 billion in 2021, encompassing both distributed generation (systems on rooftops and building facades) and centralized (large solar plants).

According to ABSOLAR’s analysis, more than 4.9 gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity will be added, combining large plants and distributed systems on rooftops, facades, and small plots of land. This will represent a growth of more than 68% over the current installed capacity of the country, which is currently at 7.5 GW. The outlook for the sector is to reach the end of 2021 with a total of more than 377,000 jobs in Brazil since 2012, distributed among all production links in the sector.
