With over 100 attractions aimed at different age groups, the Santa Catarina park ranks ahead of traditional North American complexes, such as Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot, both from Disney.
International Recognition and Expanding Tourism
The result reinforces the growth of Brazil’s presence in entertainment tourism, according to data from the Brazilian Agency for International Promotion of Tourism (Embratur).

In an official statement, the administration of Beto Carrero World stated that the recognition is a result of spontaneous public evaluations and the continuous work of the teams involved in maintenance, service, and operations.
According to tourism industry experts, the performance of Brazilian parks in international rankings tends to influence the choice of travelers looking for alternatives outside traditional destinations in the United States and Europe.
Structure and Operation
With a total area of 14 million square meters, of which about 23% are built, Beto Carrero World is considered the largest theme park in Latin America.
The complex includes thrill rides, family attractions, shows, a 3D cinema, and themed areas.
The park operates year-round, with programming adapted for peak times, such as holidays and long weekends.
Visitors report that during peak dates, using virtual queues and arriving early helps optimize time within the park.
Partnerships and New Themed Areas
Among recent investments is the world’s first Nerf themed area, created in partnership with Hasbro Inc., the American company responsible for the toy blasters that inspire the brand.
The investment was approximately R$ 100 million, according to information released by the park.

The area includes rides, water attractions, shops, and food spaces with its own visual identity.
The goal, according to the administration, is to expand the offering of experiences aimed at families.
Roller Coaster with Six World Records
Beto Carrero World announced the development of a new roller coaster that aims to set six world records in its category.
So far, there is no confirmed technical information about the project, such as height, length, speed, or opening date.
The park stated that details will be released after the completion of the testing phase and technical approvals.
In the meantime, they continue to operate established attractions, such as FireWhip and Star Mountain, which rank among the most sought-after by the public.
History and Legacy of the Founder
Founded on December 28, 1991 by João Batista Sérgio Murad, Beto Carrero World was created with the proposal of combining shows and mechanical attractions in one space.
Murad, who passed away in 2008 due to endocarditis, left a project that continues to be expanded by the current administration.
According to park information, the expansion model includes new themed areas, modernization of equipment, and partnerships with companies in the global entertainment sector.
Location and Access

The park is located in the municipality of Penha (SC), next to the Beto Carrero International Karting and the Beto Carrero Institute, with areas reserved for future expansions.
The location is considered strategic by sector analysts due to its proximity to airports and highways.
The complex is 8 km from Navegantes International Airport, 37 km from Balneário Camboriú, 57 km from Blumenau, and 72 km from Joinville, with main access via BR-101.
Visitor Experience
Recent reports published by visitors on Tripadvisor highlight cleanliness, organization, and show quality as the park’s strengths.
The evaluations also mention shorter lines on weekdays and recommend two days of visit for those wishing to experience all the attractions.
Tourism experts state that Beto Carrero World has built a positive image among families and school groups, contributing to the increase in national and international tourist flow in the Santa Catarina coast region.
Park Sector in Brazil
The park’s good performance reflects the advancement of the theme and water park sector in Brazil.
According to a survey by the Brazilian Association of Parks and Attractions (Adibra), the segment has recorded annual growth in visitor numbers and investments in new attractions, particularly in the South and Northeast.

Industry analysts say that maintaining the international performance of Brazilian parks will depend on their capacity for innovation, constant updating of attractions, and improvement of the tourism infrastructure in the cities that host them.
The expectation surrounding the new roller coaster, which has not yet had details released, should keep Beto Carrero World highlighted in the coming years.
With international recognition and new projects underway, the Santa Catarina park consolidates its presence on the global entertainment map.
The question now is: how can Brazil increase investment in theme parks and strengthen national tourism in the face of international competition?
