Red Bull Erects Mega Ramp of 100 Meters on the Facade of CAFF in Porto Alegre, Surpasses Bob Burnquist and Leaves Two Permanent Tracks in RS.

For the first time in Brazil, a mega ramp has been constructed on the facade of a public building. According to the FDR portal, the structure, larger than the legendary ramps of Bob Burnquist, was assembled at the Fernando Ferrari Administrative Center (CAFF) in Porto Alegre, with no expense to public coffers.

The historic achievement is part of Red Bull’s international Building Drop project and puts Rio Grande do Sul on the global skate map.

In addition to the spectacle, the event will leave as a legacy two permanent skate parks for the local community, reinforcing the democratization of the sport.

Who’s Behind the Mega Ramp

According to FDR, Red Bull is responsible for the initiative, having carried out similar projects in other countries.

In Porto Alegre, the brand took advantage of the iconic curvature of CAFF, which for years had been nicknamed “the largest ramp in the city” by locals, to create a structure of up to 100 meters in length.

The partnership with the Planning, Governance, and Management Secretariat (SPGG) made the construction possible at no cost to the government.

In exchange, Red Bull ensured the construction of two permanent skate parks in Rio Grande do Sul, consolidating the action as both a sports and social event.

How Long Is It and Why It Surpasses Bob Burnquist

The mega ramp set up in Porto Alegre measures between 85 and 100 meters, surpassing the structures created by Bob Burnquist, a global icon of skateboarding.

This achievement places the intervention among the largest in the world, an unprecedented milestone for Brazilian sports.

The structure was designed to combine safety and visual impact, exploring the architecture of the North Wing and the West side of the building.

Extra obstacles were added to challenge skateboarders and increase the appeal of the performance.

Where and When the Descent Happens

The event takes place from September 8 to 10, 2025, in Porto Alegre.

Due to safety reasons, there will be no in-person audience: the descent will be broadcast through Red Bull’s digital channels.

The name of the athlete in charge has not been confirmed yet. Rumors point to Sandro Dias, “Mineirinho,” a world champion and one of the biggest legends of national skateboarding.

If confirmed, the Brazilian prominence will add even more weight to the spectacle.

Why the Mega Ramp Has Symbolic Value

More than a sports event, the intervention at CAFF has cultural impact.

The building, which has been the subject of jokes for decades for resembling a giant ramp, has finally transformed into an official skate park. For the local community, it’s the realization of an old dream.

According to FDR, the social aspect is one of the greatest assets of the initiative.

The two permanent parks to be delivered in the state represent a lasting legacy, expanding young people’s access to skateboarding and strengthening the regional sports scene.

Is It Worth Investing in Actions Like This?

Experience shows that public-private partnerships can generate concrete benefits without overburdening public coffers.

In addition to global visibility, Porto Alegre gains permanent sports infrastructure, while Red Bull reinforces its brand in the extreme sports scene.

For experts, this model could be replicated in other locations, creatively exploring urban architecture.

The mega ramp at CAFF is an example of how sports can transform spaces and bring the population closer to city symbols.

The construction of the mega ramp in Porto Alegre marks a turning point in Brazilian skateboarding.

Larger than those of Bob Burnquist, unprecedented in a public building, and with a guaranteed legacy, the action brings together boldness, culture, and social responsibility.

And you, do you believe that the mega ramp at CAFF will really change the skate scene in Brazil or will it be remembered only as a one-time spectacle?
