The company announced that it has anchored the FSO Pargo in the Basin of Campos this week. This is another historical milestone for Perenco Brazil in recovering the Pargo asset in the company’s operations.

Last Tuesday, (05/16), the oil and gas company Perenco Brazil announced the anchoring process of the FSO Pargo platform in the Basin of Campos region, more specifically in the Pargo Hub. The activity involved connecting nine mooring lines, in addition to one export line. Now, the oil company continues its investments in expanding its activities in the Brazilian offshore market.

On Tuesday, Perenco Brazil announced that it has fixed the FSO Pargo platform in the Basin of Campos.

This unit, responsible for the storage and transportation of oil, has a storage capacity of 750,000 barrels.

The FSO Pargo is part of the concession revitalization project, which aims to invest US$ 400 million and increase production by 25% by the end of this year, reaching an average daily production of 15,000 barrels.

The anchoring operation consisted of connecting nine mooring lines, as well as installing the new production export line from the Pargo platform.

The Pargo concession is located in the Basin of Campos, one of the most important oil and gas producing basins in Brazil.

The basin has a long history of production and hosts several oil fields that ensure a strong presence in the Brazilian offshore market.

The company Perenco Brazil is an independent oil and gas company with operations in several countries, including Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The company has a long history of operation in Brazil and is committed to developing the country’s oil and gas resources. The anchoring of the FSO Pargo in the Basin of Campos is just one step taken by the company in its expansion campaign.

The anchoring of the FSO Pargo is a positive development for the Brazilian oil and gas industry.

The project is expected to increase production and help meet the growing demand for oil in Brazil.

The project is also a sign of Perenco Brazil’s commitment to developing the country’s oil and gas resources.

Perenco Brazil holds all the concessions of the Pargo Hub, which include the Pargo, Carapeba, and Vermelho fields, located in shallow water areas in the Basin of Campos, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. These concessions include a set of eight fixed platforms, with a maximum depth reaching 100 meters.

In 2023, daily oil production reached 13,000 barrels, representing an impressive increase of 364% compared to the 2,800 barrels recorded when Perenco Brazil took over operations in October 2019.

“The Development Plan for the Pargo Hub is a large-scale project, and we are proud of the partnership with Brazil to bring our technical expertise and innovative approach to maximize the lifespan of the Pargo concessions,” commented Yves Postec, General Director of Perenco Brazil.

In early 2021, Brazilian authorities formally approved the development plan, along with the extension of Perenco Brazil’s rights over the concessions until 2040.

Now, the company is confident that the Development Plan for the Pargo Hub will be successful and will help ensure the continued growth of the Brazilian economy, with strong investments in production in the Basin of Campos following the anchoring of the FSO Pargo.
