At Reduc, located in Rio de Janeiro, Petrobras will undertake works to adapt the hydrotreatment (HDT) unit at the refinery, increasing the production capacity of Diesel S-10 from the current 5,000 m³ per day to 9,500 m³ per day.

The investment works at the plant are scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2023. At Revap, Petrobras will also invest in works to adapt the diesel hydrotreatment unit, also with the aim of increasing production.

The works at the refinery are expected to be completed by the end of the second half of 2025. The state-owned company stated that it is studying the implementation of new units for the production of Diesel S-10 and lubricants at Gaslub in Itaboraí (RJ).

New Investments

As mentioned earlier, Petrobras announced that it will implement a new hydrotreatment unit at the Paulínia Refinery in São Paulo. The plant will have the capacity to produce 10,000 m³ of Diesel S-10 per day by 2025.

The oil company’s objective with the investments is to increase the production of higher value derivatives with lower carbon emissions and better quality, such as Diesel S-10.

Get To Know Reduc And Revap

The Duque de Caxias Refinery, known as Reduc, is one of the largest in Brazil in terms of installed capacity for oil refining. The unit began production in 1961 and has since gained increasing prominence in the national scenario. Reduc is responsible for 80% of lubricant production in Brazil.

On the other hand, the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap) covers an area of 10,000,000 m² and started its operations in March 1980. Currently, the unit primarily serves the São Paulo market and the central-west region of the country.
