Record Cooking Gas LPG Sales
According to the statement issued by Petrobras yesterday (10/09), the Revap refinery sold 80,204 tons of LPG in August, equivalent to 6.16 million cylinders, compared to the previous record of 75,730 tons, reached in June, representing a 5.9% increase. The first record of the year had been achieved in May, with 71,115 tons.
These numbers consolidate Revap as an important supply point for cooking gas in the country, directly serving the regions of the Paraíba Valley, northern coast, and southern Minas, as well as other markets through transfers carried out by distributors via truck for the supply of secondary bases.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant drop in demand for the main petroleum derivatives. On the other hand, domestic demand for LPG surged and remained above the initial demands of distributors and the forecasts of market agents,” Petrobras informed in its statement.
Path of Cooking Gas LPG
The product sold at Petrobras Revap refinery in São Paulo is mainly composed of production from the Catalytic Cracking Unit. Another portion of the derivative is received via pipeline from the Caraguatatuba Gas Treatment Unit (UTGCA).
Revap has the capacity to process 40 million liters of oil daily, equivalent to 14% of national production, and produces more than 20 different types of derivatives.
Record Diesel S-10
For the third consecutive month, Petrobras achieved a new record production of low-sulfur diesel (S-10). The state-owned refineries produced 1.84 million m³ of the product in August, a slightly higher quantity compared to July (1.81 million m³) and 15% above the June mark of 1.6 million m³.
The company attributes the successive records of Diesel S-10 to the evolution of heavy-duty and utility vehicle engines powered by diesel used in Brazil for transporting goods. Today, the country has two types of road diesel: Diesel S-500 and Diesel S-10, with S-500 used only by older vehicles manufactured until 2011.
