This Award Is Recognition of Petrobras’ Advances in Transparency of Information Disclosed to the Market.
Petrobras informs that it is one of the winners of the Transparency Trophy 2019. The company was among the top 10 in Brazil in the category of publicly traded companies with revenue over R$ 5 billion. Another good news was announced, showing that the oil company is bouncing back! The company’s profit was R$ 18.8 billion in the second quarter of 2019, the highest profit for a publicly traded company in a second quarter since 1986.
The award evaluates criteria such as the quality of the information contained in the company’s financial statements and explanatory notes, the transparency of the information provided, the consistency of the management report, and adherence to accounting principles for the year preceding the award (2018).

In total, more than two thousand financial statements of Brazilian companies were technically analyzed by master’s and doctoral students from the School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting of the University of São Paulo (FEA – USP). The award was announced on Friday, August 16. The trophy will be presented on October 15.
“This award is recognition of the advances made by Petrobras in the transparency of information disclosed to the market. Every year, we participate in technical forums related to the subject and conduct benchmarking with other companies recognized for their transparency and quality of financial information, looking to improve our analytical capabilities.
In the 2018 financial statements, for example, we presented at the beginning a summary of the main accounting facts that occurred during the period and developed, along with other areas of Petrobras, qualitative comments on the main assets, liabilities, and results, which were well received by the market.
We are on the right track and will seek even more improvements, especially in our processes, aiming for more automation using technology tools and professional training,” highlights Andrea Almeida, Financial Director and Investor Relations Officer of Petrobras.
Established in 1997, the Transparency Trophy is organized by the Association of Finance, Administration and Accounting Executives (Anefac), in partnership with the Foundation for Research in Accounting, Actuarial and Financial Sciences (Fipecafi) and Serasa Experian.
