Petrobras has just signed large contracts with EBS and Conterp, aiming at the expansion of onshore oil and gas production in the state of Bahia. The investment, of approximately R$ 707 million, is expected to generate hundreds of job positions in the region.

The company recently signed two contracts with service providers EBS and Conterp, which will be responsible for drilling new wells and expanding operations in the onshore fields located in the region.

The total value of the contracts is around R$ 707 million, a significant investment for the company, aiming to increase its production and expand the capacity to explore resources in Bahia.

These new contracts represent an important part of Petrobras’ strategy to reinforce its activities in the onshore oil exploration sector, especially in onshore fields.

Hiring New Rigs and Impact on Job Generation

With the new contracts, the drilling rigs contracted will be part of a land drilling campaign planned for the period from September 2025 to June 2029.

During this period, the projects are expected to generate about 530 direct and indirect job positions, contributing to local development and creating opportunities for professionals in the Bahia region.

In addition, an important aspect of the contracts is the commitment to local content.

The contracted companies, EBS and Conterp, are committed to carrying out up to 65% of the activities using services and materials from Brazilian suppliers, which further strengthens the local economy and increases job generation in Bahia.

EBS Perfurações will be responsible for drilling wells up to 5,000 meters deep, while Conterp will focus on drilling wells up to 4,000 meters deep.

Both companies have extensive experience in performing this type of service, ensuring the quality and efficiency of the drilling operations, which are essential for the success of Petrobras’ onshore production expansion in the region.

An Important Step for the Future of Petrobras in Bahia

This investment by Petrobras reflects the growing interest of the company in strengthening its onshore operations, a segment that, although not the most talked about, represents a vital part of the strategy for exploration and production of oil and gas in Brazil.
