- Petrobras unit makes small city one of the most polluting
- Green energy revolution: Biomethane replaces natural gas in sustainable ammonia production, reducing dependence on fossil fuels
- No soy or sugarcane! Brazil's largest exported product is oil, to the delight of Petrobras and other companies in the sector.
- From pre-salt to the largest gas reserve: Petrobras discovers 6 trillion cubic feet of gas in Colombia and leads global energy revolution
In his speech during the event, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva highlighted: “Every historic change is born from a dream, and the dream of the Brazilian people is of a better life: with less inequality, with the opportunity to undertake or get a job. The new generations want stability without the threat of an environmental crisis.”
According to him, through the PAC, Brazil will reach its full state potential in favor of society's aspirations, harmonizing segments to unleash Brazil's vigor.
In addition to Petrobras' contribution as an investor, the Federal Government, state companies and the private sector are also joining forces in the project for the new PAC, through public-private partnerships and strategic concessions.
Jean Paul Prates, president of Petrobras, reaffirms the company's dedication to the development of Brazil.
According to him, Petrobras' R$323 billion investment will boost several projects ranging from the revitalization of pre-salt fields and platforms to the transformation of refineries into biorefineries.
The launch event of the new PAC for investment in infrastructure also featured prominent figures from the national government, such as Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, and Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.
Petrobras directs investments to strategic projects in the domestic market
The Strategic Plan (SP) 2023 – 2027 outlined the routes that define Petrobras' priority projects, thus delimiting the PAC investment that will be allocated to the projects.
Among these projects, 47 were carefully selected, with emphasis on the decarbonization fund, while others are awaiting maturity, awaiting the green light of the next PE 2024 – 2028.
In the PAC portfolio, 19 exploration and production systems stand out, covering the Campos and Santos basins, in addition to two additional systems for Sergipe waters.
In addition, under the command of Prates, the state-owned company is eyeing the new exploratory frontiers, where it foresees nine wells on the Equatorial Margin, in the north of the country.
In terms of outflow infrastructure, key projects, such as the Rota 3 Integrated Program, will allow the efficient transport of pre-salt gas from the Santos Basin, together with the SEAP I and II gas pipeline.
Efforts in the refining sector are focused on increasing both capacity and product quality.
The company commanded by Prates still has a construction program of 25 ships planned for Brazilian shipyards in the coming years.
Thus, Petrobras' investment in the new PAC demonstrates only part of the state-owned company's plans for national infrastructure.
