DOF Subsea secured a 3-year contract with Consórcio Libra and will deploy the Skandi Salvador, supporting Petrobras' activities in deep waters in the pre-salt

Petrobras signed a three-year contract with DOF Subsea for a multipurpose support vessel (MPSV) for the Mero field, part of the Libra block, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, which uses several floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels. Consórcio Libra plans to use four new FPSOs to produce up to 600.000 barrels of oil per day in the Mero field.

DOF Subsea said it will deploy the skandi savior, which will operate two remotely operated vehicles (ROV) for 24 hours, providing inspection, maintenance and submarine commissioning services in water depths of up to 2.500 m, in the pre-salt layer, including shallow diving services with Oceânica.

DOF Subsea Brasil will be responsible for ROV operations, while Norskan will be responsible for maritime operations in the Campos Basin pre-salt. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of DOF ASA.

Mons S. Aase, CEO of Grupo DOF, said: “I am delighted to be awarded this long-term contract with Petrobras. The award further strengthens DOF's position in the IMR market in Brazil. DOF Subsea is dedicated to providing efficient services without compromise for safety. “

Consórcio Libra is led by Petrobras – with a 40% stake – in partnership with Shell Brasil (20%); Total (20%), CNODC (10%) and CNOOC Limited (10%). The consortium also has the participation of the state-owned company Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) as administrator of the Production Sharing Agreement.

DOF Subsea offshore contracts in Brazil

In August, DOF Subsea announced the awarding of contracts with Petrobras for at least three vessels to carry out flexible pipelines, risers and inspection of subsea equipment in the Campos Basin, Santos Basin, Campo de Marlin and Espírito Santo Basin.

The contracts are worth more than $110 million, with a planned start date of the fourth quarter of 2020 and an estimated duration of 550 days.
