CDP, Renowned Sustainability Organization, Recognized Petrobras as a Leading Company in Supplier Engagement.

In the 2022 cycle, Petrobras achieved an impressive A- rating in the Supplier Engagement Rating (SER), a global index that measures the promotion of good environmental practices and actions to combat climate change throughout the supply chain.

Petrobras achieved an unprecedented result, validating its sustainability initiatives and policies. This remarkable achievement recognizes its effective implementation in the supplier market of goods and services.

Learn More About Petrobras’ Recognition

As a highlight, in 2022, the company carried out awareness actions, such as events and training, with supplier companies of goods and services, and launched the “ESG Journey (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for Suppliers.”

Petrobras joined the CDP Supply Chain initiative, which encourages suppliers to map their emissions and provide transparency on their governance initiatives and practices, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, environment, climate change, and energy transition.

The Carbon Neutral Plan was also structured to strengthen its positioning as low carbon through an integrated corporate vision for all its initiatives, including those involving the supplier chain.

This is yet another recognition of Petrobras’ ESG efforts and initiatives. In December 2022, Petrobras was added to the list of global companies recognized for their climate change mitigation actions, as published by CDP.

The company received an A- rating from CDP last year for its good practices in this area. Additionally, the company maintains an A- rating for water security. These ratings signify that Petrobras is recognized as a leader, a designation available only to an excellent group of companies demonstrating the best practices in addressing environmental issues.

Neutral Emission is a Highlight for the Company

In its strategic plan for 2023-2027, Petrobras reaffirmed its ambition to eliminate operational emissions in activities under its control by 2050, and influenced its partners to achieve the same ambition in non-operational assets.

To that end, it is investing US$ 4.4 billion in technology solutions and decarbonization projects to accelerate the decarbonization of operations and products, achieve greater methane efficiency, and return CO2 to flow and storage by 2025.

Petrobras Board Rejects Two Candidates from Lula

The Petrobras board rejected two nominations from the government for a collegiate renewal, to be evaluated at a shareholders’ meeting at the end of April, after a negative opinion from the internal committee.

The names considered ineligible are the Minister of Oil and Gas from the MME, Pietro Mendes, and former Minister Sérgio Machado Rezende, who leads PSB. In both cases, the committee responsible for the analysis of the candidates alleged violations of the State-Owned Enterprises Law. The group is called Cope (People’s Committee) and is made up of four council members and one independent member. However, the government may insist on the appointments.
