Equipment Will Operate in Block CE-M-717, in the Ceará Basin, and Premier Will Also Bid for Berths for Offshore Support Vessels
Premier Oil confirmed today (07/17), the search for an offshore rig for a campaign in its Berimbau/Maraca field, in block CE-M-717, in the Ceará Basin.
The announcement was made by the company, which had already launched an RFI (Request For Information) to the market to assess the conditions of companies regarding the availability of this type of equipment in the country.

The RFI also included a query for the hiring of berths for support vessels in Fortaleza, Ceará. The drilling campaign in Ceará, according to Premier Oil, will begin in 2020.
The first campaign of the block is estimated to end in July 2021.

Premier Oil plc is an independent oil company from the United Kingdom with interests in oil and gas in the UK, Asia, Africa, and Mexico.
The company acquired block CE-M-717 (approximately 500 km² area) in the 11th bidding round of ANP, in 2013 and owns 50% of the asset, partnering with the Spanish Cepsa Óleo e Gás do Brasil, which is being purchased by the Matador Bidco S.À.R.L. group, formed by the Carlyle Group private equity fund.
This is not the only project of Premier Oil in Ceará. In 2016, the oil company had already acquired 3D seismic data in blocks CE-M-717 and CE-M-661.
