Seadrill Secures Drilling Contract in Gabon

Seadrill Partners announced on Wednesday that its drillship West Polaris secured a contract with PC Gabon Upstream for drilling operations in Gabon. The contract is for one well and is expected to commence in September 2019, by the end of 2019. According to the offshore drilling company, the backlog is expected to be approximately US $ 22 million, excluding mobilization fees. The West Polaris is a 6th generation, dynamically positioned drillship delivered at Samsung’s shipyard in 2008. It is currently stacked warm in the Canary Islands.
