The Federation Released a Statement Wanting to Know About Performance Bonuses. Petrobras Does Not Reveal Names and Values.
On August 28, we at Click Petróleo e Gás informed about the payment of performance bonuses of R$ 1 billion from Petrobras to its employees, the news released by the state-owned company outraged the National Federation of Oil Workers. The base group claims that they did not feel the smell of oil, which filled the barrels of managers, directors, and other thousands of collaborators.
Petrobras will be notified by the National Federation of Oil Workers – FNP to find out where the money went. The oil workers criticize the state-owned company through its official news outlet for proposing salary reductions in a process of intolerance in favor of profit, while part of the management received these thousands of reais.

“In this model, where many earn nothing, a few receive gigantic bonuses, concentrating most of the awards in high-level positions,” the Federation states.
According to Petrobras’ advisory, the president, Roberto Castello Branco, did not receive the bonus because he was not with the company in 2018.
There are rumors that managers and directors have already received bonuses of R$ 300 thousand to R$ 400 thousand. The coverage team surpassed one million reais.
Petrobras’ advisory noted that it cannot disclose names and values, stating that “all employees were eligible, but not everyone received,” because “variable compensation relates to employee performance in 2018.”
Collective Agreement
An attempt at mediation by the TST between unions and Petrobras did not have a conclusive outcome this Thursday, August 29. In light of this, the vice presidency of the TST submitted a mediation proposal until September 27, 2019, to ensure that the unions commit to not strike and attend scheduled meetings, while Petrobras will extend the ACT while mediation lasts.
The TST set the deadline for a response at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 2. If there is no agreement from either party, there will be no extension of the ACT, and the mediation will be terminated. In this scenario, the company will begin the gradual process of transitioning current practices in the ACT 2017-2019 to those provided for in the legislation.
