According to PetroRio’s production data, over 5 thousand extra barrels of oil were extracted compared to 2020
PetroRio announced on the evening of last Thursday, January 6, the preliminary data of its oil and gas production for the year 2021. As described in the report, the oil company concluded the period with 31,615 equivalent barrels of oil extracted daily. The volume represents a growth of about 19% compared to the numbers from 2020 – the year in which PetroRio had a production of 26,569 equivalent barrels of oil per day.

Barrel Production of Oil
Especially regarding the month of December, PetroRio states that its total production balance was 34,180 equivalent barrels of oil per day. This is equivalent to a growth of 9.4% compared to the month of November (31,235 equivalent barrels of oil daily).
PetroRio also declared that the “production from the Tubarão Martelo Field in December was impacted by the shutdown of production from the OGX-44HP well in the first days of the month due to a failure in the submerged centrifugal pump (BCS), causing a reduction in production of about 1.4 kbpd.” The Kingmaker rig is performing a workover, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of January.

Recently, PetroRio formalized its request for Declaration of Commerciality for the Wahoo discovery to the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP). The oil company also made public the Development Plan under an exclusive operation regime for the asset to the agency. Wahoo is located in block C-M-101 in the Campos Basin and has a total of 126 million recoverable barrels of oil (1C), according to the reserve certification issued in January by D&M.
