The Ford F-Maxx Pickup Has a Six-Cylinder, 400 HP Turbodiesel Engine and a 10-Speed Transmission

Tropical Cabines, a Ford branch, was one of the companies most affected by the end of Ford production in Brazil. Founded in 1985, the company began operations at the factory by creating double-cab versions of Ford and Chevrolet pickup models and decided to specialize and direct its services to adapt pickups, either by style or by specific needs requested by companies and customers. During the modifications on the series models, there was a unique transformation: the company managed to obtain a strong and robust vehicle, with a 400 hp engine and truck chassis. Within the automotive world, pickups are the only vehicles that, as segments grow and different trucks are assembled, seem increasingly imposing, in addition to having high-displacement engines and distinctive designs.

According to the magazine Quatro Rodas, soon after the company emerged, following dedication to double-cab models, exclusive creations derived from the F-250 or F-1000 models appeared, such as the Tropiclassic (sedan), Tropivan (SUV), and Tropiampo (extended).

From these last two models, which had six doors, the F-Maxx was born. This pickup drew significant attention from automotive enthusiasts and the general public, precisely because at 7.5 meters long and 5.95 m in wheelbase, it has a truck chassis, more specifically, from the Ford Cargo 1723, and over 14 years, only 30 units of the Ford F-Maxx Pickup were produced.

The unit number 29 of the F-Maxx pickup features a refrigerator, in addition to three sunroofs, WiFi network connection for up to 55 devices, high-performance audio equipment control, with a sound system featuring four subwoofers installed in sealed boxes within the pickup’s floor, integrated dashboard from the F-250 model, and ample and comfortable space to accommodate passengers, including three rows of seats, luggage space, USB ports in the doors, among other attributes.

On the exterior of the vehicle, an impressive chrome grille, integrated LED optics from the Ranger version, manufactured and sold in Europe, and 22.5-inch wheels. Furthermore, the Ford F-Maxx pickup has air parking brakes, some adjustments and adaptations in the suspensions, and the engine is the powerful Cummins 6.7 turbodiesel, a six-cylinder engine with 400 hp, with a unique integrated 10-speed automatic transmission and clutch.

Price of the Pickup

The price of the Ford F-Maxx Pickup is estimated at around R$ 1,500,000, and this is the value of exclusivity, as there is no other F-Maxx like this on the market.

It is unlikely that there is even one that resembles the F-Maxx, and it appears that none will ever exist, precisely because Tropical Cabines has ended its manufacturing activities, due to the end of the entire production line of Ford within Brazilian territory.
