Siemens Gamesa Signed a Record Order for Its Leading Wind Power Platform Called Siemens Gamesa 5.x Turbine, to Supply the São Vitor Wind Farm in the Northeast.
The wind farm will be equipped with 75 Siemens Gamesa 5.8-170 turbines with OptimaFlex technology, operating at 6.2 MW. The wind farm, located in the state of Bahia, is expected to be operational by the end of 2022. Essentia Energia will provide the energy produced at the site to a major power supplier in the country through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Many Wind Energy Orders for New Brazilian Projects with Siemens Gamesa
Combined with a contract for the Tucano Wind Farm of 312 MW, in the state of Bahia, Siemens Gamesa has already registered 777 MW of orders for its 5.X platform in Brazil. Globally, the company has already recorded over 1.5 GW of orders for this revolutionary turbine in the sector, which offers one of the most competitive levelized cost of energy (LCoE) in the market through its power rating and rotor size.
“This is a big step for Brazilian renewable energy, which will help bring clean energy to many more thousands. The project will also employ market-leading technology, which means we can install fewer turbines while producing greater energy capacity. We are pleased to do this alongside such a strong financial partner, Patria Investments, an alliance we hope to build in the coming years,” said Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, CEO of Siemens Gamesa Onshore.
