Requirements to Receive PIS 2023 and How to Check the Benefit
To be entitled to the salary bonus, it is necessary to have earned an average of up to two minimum wages per month in 2021, be registered with PIS or Pasep for at least five years, and have the information provided correctly by the employer. Private sector workers must have worked with a signed contract for at least 30 days in 2021. Some categories of workers are not entitled to the bonus, such as domestic employees, rural workers employed by individuals, urban workers employed by individuals, and those employed by individuals equated to legal entities.
Workers can check the amount of the bonus and obtain information about the payment through the Digital Work Card app. The Caixa Tem app also provides information on the bonus for private sector workers, in addition to offering support via phone 158. The payment of PIS at Caixa will be prioritized in current or savings accounts, while others will receive through Caixa Tem, which allows payments, transfers, and purchases with the virtual debit card. The bonus can also be withdrawn at ATMs and lottery shops using the Social Card, and will be available for redemption until December 28.
