With High-End Performance, 120Hz Display, and a Huge Battery, the New Poco X7 Pro May Be the Best Purchase of the Year or a Major Disappointment; We Analyzed Its Strengths and Weaknesses for You to Decide.

The Poco X7 Pro arrived in the Brazilian market in recent months, generating intense debate among technology enthusiasts. With technical specifications that promise high-end smartphone performance for a fraction of the price, many consumers wonder if it is, in fact, the cost-benefit champion or if there is a hidden trap.

Based on a detailed analysis, we present the strengths that make the Poco X7 Pro an impressive machine and then the weaknesses that might be decisive for you not to buy it. The goal is clear: to determine whether this device is your best purchase or a potential disappointment.

Where the Poco X7 Pro Shines

Display

The first major highlight of the device is its display. It features a 120Hz AMOLED panel, delivering exceptional fluidity in navigation, high brightness for outdoor use, and vibrant, accurate colors. For those who consume a lot of video content, such as movies and series on their phones, or for those seeking an immersive gaming experience, the display quality is a significant attraction.

Performance

When it comes to performance, the Poco X7 Pro impresses. It comes equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor, manufactured on a 4-nanometer process. While it may not be a Snapdragon, this is one of MediaTek’s best chipsets, offering stable and powerful performance comparable to high-end processors like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For the average user, what matters to know is that the device is extremely fast, capable of running any current app or game with maximum performance and no stutters.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is another strong point. With a 6,000 mAh battery, the Poco X7 Pro easily guarantees more than a day of intense use. For moderate users, it is possible to reach two days away from the charger. What truly impresses is the charging technology. The device comes with a 90W charger in the box, which takes the battery from 0 to 100% in under 45 minutes — some tests have recorded a time of 42 minutes.

Design

To wrap up the positive points, the design of the Poco X7 Pro is one of its attractions. It is thin, lightweight, and has a high-quality finish that makes it look far more expensive than the approximately R$ 2,000 charged for it. Although it is a large smartphone, its lightweight and elegant construction make it comfortable to use.

Where the Poco X7 Pro May Disappoint

Cameras

This is undoubtedly the most controversial point of the device. The camera setup is unbalanced. The front (selfie) camera delivers good results in photos, but does not stand out in video. On the back, the main 50 MP camera is excellent, capturing photos with high definition, great detail level, and an impressive natural background blur, as seen in portraits.

The problem lies in the secondary cameras. The ultrawide camera, at only 8 MP, offers drastically inferior quality. The loss of sharpness is glaring, and in landscape photos, details like grass lose texture and appear artificial. The zoom is also only digital, utilizing the high resolution of the main sensor. If you value having a versatile and high-quality camera setup (main, ultrawide, and zoom), the Poco X7 Pro is not the right choice.

Sound Output

Although marketed as a premium stereo sound system, the audio of the Poco X7 Pro is merely functional. It is not bad, but it also does not stand out for power or clarity. The quality can be described as “mediocre”: good enough for videos but lacking the impact and clarity found in other competing smartphones.

System (HyperOS)

Xiaomi’s HyperOS interface is an evolution of the old MIUI, being fast and feature-rich. However, it still retains some characteristics that annoy certain users. The system comes pre-installed with bloatware apps and displays ads in certain areas, which can be irritating. While it is possible to disable most ads and uninstall the apps, the initial experience can be frustrating for less experienced users, who may confuse ads with viruses.

Is It Worth Buying?

Answering objectively: it entirely depends on your profile.

If you are looking for maximum gaming performance, a spectacular display, a battery that lasts all day, and ultra-fast charging, and do not mind the versatility of the cameras, the Poco X7 Pro is possibly the best option in the price range of up to R$ 2,000.

However, if you value a high-quality camera setup across all lenses (main, ultrawide, etc.), a completely clean out-of-the-box software experience, or high-fidelity stereo sound, there are other options on the market that, while perhaps with less processing power, will deliver a more balanced overall package.

Congratulations on researching before you buy. Now, with all the strengths and weaknesses laid out, the final decision is in your hands.
