Energyminer Develops An Innovative Alternative That Promises To Harness River Energy Without The Need To Build Large And Heavy Dams, Offering A Sustainable And Effective Solution For Clean Energy Generation.

River energy has been a valuable source of electricity for decades, but the question many people ask is: Can river energy be harnessed without the need to build large and heavy dams? Energyminer, an innovative company, is showing that it can. With its turbine system known as Energyfish, the company offers an alternative that can revolutionize the way we harness the force of rivers, avoiding the environmental impacts of traditional dams.

The idea behind Energyfish is simple and brilliant. It is a “compact underwater hydropower station” capable of generating renewable and clean energy without needing huge concrete structures that drastically alter the environment. The turbines are installed directly on the riverbed, remaining semi-submerged and harnessing the natural flow of the waters to generate electricity.

River Energy Without The Need To Build Large Dams

Energyminer has already put this idea into practice, showing that it is indeed possible to harness river energy without the need to build large and heavy dams. With a “swarm” of one hundred of these devices, it is possible to produce up to 1.5 GWh per year, enough to supply about 470 households. The system avoids emissions of 2,300 tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to the emissions of 1,700 small cars.

Energyfish Designed To Operate For Over 10 Years

Another interesting point is the durability and efficiency of this system. Energyfish has been designed to operate for over 10 years, offering continuous and long-lasting energy production. Maintenance is minimal, and the entire system is monitored 24 hours a day, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Impact On The Environment Is Minimal

But the advantages go beyond energy production. Unlike traditional dams, which often block fish migration and alter the natural flow of rivers, Energyfish operates in harmony with nature. The impact on the environment is minimal, and the system is safe for both wildlife and humans. The voltage used is extremely low, at just 60 volts, which eliminates risks in case of cable damage.

Building Large Dams Takes Time

The installation of this system is also quick and efficient. While building large dams can take years and require a significant amount of resources, Energyfish can be installed in just a few weeks, without the need for major construction or heavy machinery.

WWF Says Nearly Two-Thirds Of The World’s Largest Rivers Have Been Blocked By Dams

And why is this so important? Dams, despite being efficient in energy generation, bring significant environmental impacts. According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), nearly two-thirds of the world’s largest rivers have been blocked by dams, causing a series of environmental problems. Energyfish, on the other hand, offers a sustainable alternative that can help preserve these vital ecosystems.

Energyminer is already testing its system in Munich, where Energyfish has been installed in a small river. Although they have not yet released exact numbers regarding the efficiency of this installation, the company assures that the system works well and integrates into the local environment without issues.

Energyfish Is Compact and Lightweight

Technically, Energyfish is compact and lightweight, weighing about 80 kilograms and measuring 3×2.4×1 meters. Its average output power is 1.8 kW, with a peak of 6 kW, making it suitable for a wide variety of rivers with depths of at least one meter and currents of at least one meter per second.

River energy can be harnessed without the need to build large and heavy dams. Energyminer’s Energyfish is a practical example of how innovation can help us generate clean and sustainable energy, minimizing environmental impacts and preserving rivers for future generations. With solutions like this, the future of renewable energy looks ever more promising.
