The Municipality of Santarém Launched an Announcement to Participate in the Bidding Process in the Public Tender Mode
According to the Municipality of Santarém’s website, the bidding process in the public tender mode was launched through the Municipal Secretariat of Mobility and Traffic (SMT), for the concession of the Hydroviary Terminals of Santarém, Joaquim da Costa Pereira, Santana do Tapará, Alter do Chão, and the piers located along Avenida Tapajós, in the city’s waterfront.
This concession will be valid for 25 years, with the possibility of extension for the same period. The company or consortium that passes the selection process will be responsible for the administration, port operation, maintenance, preservation, and commercial exploitation of the areas and services, in accordance with current federal legislation and the authorization contained in Process No. 2022024.
Who Can Participate in the Santarém Bidding?
According to the rules of the announcement, participants in the bidding may be legal entities, Brazilian or foreign, either individually or in a consortium. Companies that are part of a consortium must present not only the documents required in the announcement but also the deed of establishment or commitment of establishment of the consortium, through a public or private instrument, signed by the consortium members through their legal representatives, indicating their leader and observing the provisions of Brazilian laws.

The opening for proposals will take place on 12/05/2022, at 9:30 AM. The location for the submission of the documents required by the announcement will be the Municipal Secretariat of Mobility and Traffic, located at Av. Sérgio Henn, No. 635 – Aeroporto Velho, ZIP Code 68.020-000 – Aeroporto Velho, Santarém/PA – Meeting Room 2nd Floor.
To increase competition for the selection process, the Municipality of Santarém posted the following information on its website: “The Santarém Terminal (Joaquim da Costa Pereira Hydroviary Terminal for Passengers and Cargo) is considered the largest and most modern in Brazil, located in the Prainha neighborhood, with 3,600 square meters of constructed area and an average capacity of 5,000 passengers per day.”
