BioE is the Latest Bet from Orizon VR for the Future of the Brazilian Biofuels Market, With Investments of R$ 1.2 Billion in the Next Few Years Planned. The Company Will Focus on Renewable Energy and Biogas Projects in Brazil.

Looking to the future of the national energy market, Orizon VR is, this Thursday (01/19), launching a new company in Brazil, BioE. The company will take charge of biogas production projects, focusing on the national renewable energy sector. The investments in biogas-to-biogas initiatives are part of Orizon’s strategic growth plan in the biofuels sector over the next few years.

Orizon VR Targets the Biofuels Market and Invests in the Launch of the New Company BioE for Biogas Production

Discussions about ESG practices and renewable fuel production have intensified in recent years, especially with the rise in oil prices.

As such, several companies in the energy sector are turning to the biofuels market, such as biogas.

In Brazil, Orizon VR stands out in the field of converting biogas into biogas, thereby leveraging the waste generated from the decomposition of waste received at its eco-parks.

This fuel serves as a substitute for natural gas, while also ensuring greater environmental commitment in operations.

For this reason, Orizon VR has been directing its investments toward expanding biogas production projects in the Brazilian renewable energy market.

Now, the company is launching a new player to compete in the national segment, the company BioE, focused on exploring Brazilian biomass projects.

The new organization will take on all stages of this production chain, responsible for the purchase and processing of biogas at Orizon VR’s eco-parks for transformation into renewable energy and biogas.

BioE enters the renewable energy market already with a large portfolio in hand, as its biogas production projects total a production capacity of 1.25 MM Nm³/day of biogas.

Considering the current numbers in the Brazilian market, the company is able to stand out among other companies in the biofuels sector.

Biogas is Key to a Low-Carbon Future in the National Energy Market, Highlights Orizon VR

Today, Brazil has a biogas production potential of 435,000 Nm³/day, according to the International Center for Renewable Energies — CIBiogás.

However, the Ministry of Mines and Energy emphasizes that the current demand is much higher. Thus, there is a growing necessity for new investments in biofuels production projects.

While residential consumption demands 1.42 MM Nm³/day, automotive requires 5.94 MM Nm³/day, and industrial needs 40.19 MM Nm³/day.

Thus, Orizon VR is directing its investments toward the launch of BioE as a strategic move in the current market.

“Biogas is the urban pre-salt that promotes and contributes to a low-carbon economy. This is one of the most relevant molecules in the market today, which is why there is a gem in our operation,” says Milton Pilão, CEO of Orizon.

“In this energy transition agenda, we are one step ahead because BioE is born with the exclusivity to receive all the biogas generated in our eco-parks,” concludes the executive.

With the launch of the new renewable energy company BioE, Orizon VR is preparing to reap the rewards of its investments through biogas profits in the future.
