New Electric Car from Toyota Powered by Solar Energy Will Have 218 Horsepower
Initially, the new bZ4X will come with two powertrain options. The first, with front-wheel drive, features a single electric motor with 204 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds. The second option features all-wheel drive and includes two electric motors, one on each axle of the car. Together, they provide the model with 218 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds.
According to Toyota, the 100% electric car’s range is 500 km in the front-wheel drive version and 480 km in the all-wheel drive version. Featuring fast charging technologies and solar energy, the model charges up to 80% of its total capacity in just half an hour.
Additionally, the model can be used as an external power source, providing electricity for appliances, homes, and outdoor activities.
Toyota’s New 100% Electric Car Will Arrive on the Market in Mid-2022
With plans to achieve CO2 neutrality by 2050, Toyota aims to launch 70 electric models by 2025, whether they are fully battery-electric, hybrid, or hydrogen fuel cell. Of this total, the new Toyota bZ4X is the first model of the Beyond Zero family.
The brand’s 100% electric car will launch in 2022 and is expected to be manufactured in China and Japan, arriving shortly thereafter in Europe and U.S. markets. However, in Brazil, there is no forecast for the new electric car’s arrival.
Officially, the multinational does not comment on the arrival of the SUV, but since it does not plan to electrify its entire model lineup in Brazil over the next six years, it is likely that the new 100% electric car, which uses solar energy, will hit the national market priced above the Toyota RAV4.
