In Alagoas, the Promaq Program Delivers Agricultural Machinery to 26 Municipalities, Promoting Rural Modernization, Productive Inclusion, and Sustainability with Support from Ministers Carlos Fávaro and Renan Filho
The Promaq Program has been consolidating itself as one of the main instruments for modernization in the countryside in the Northeast, according to an article published.
On last Friday, October 17, Ministers Carlos Fávaro (Agriculture and Livestock) and Renan Filho (Transport) delivered 30 agricultural machines to 26 municipalities in Alagoas, marking another step in strengthening regional agriculture.
The initiative, which is part of the National Program for Agricultural Modernization and Support to Agricultural Production, mobilized R$ 13 million in investments and reinforces the federal government’s commitment to sustainable development and productive efficiency in the countryside.

While Russia dominates the global wheat market, Brazil emerges as an unexpected competitor in the Cerrado, offering grain available in July and August when stocks in the Northern Hemisphere are at their lowest point of the year.

China returned almost 20 Brazilian ships with soybeans, but now everything could change: the country that buys 80% of the grain is considering relaxing regulations after impurities held up shipments of thousands of tons and caused million-dollar losses.

The drought of the cerrado was considered an enemy of wheat, but Brazilian scientists turned the lack of rain into a competitive advantage by creating a grain with quality that is already attracting the attention of international mills around the world.

THE OWNER of Brazil: a farmer who came from laundries, created an ’empire’ and today runs a company valued at R$ 42 billion after tripling its value in less than a year and receiving a billion-dollar investment from the USA.
With modern equipment such as graders, backhoe loaders, and compactors, the program aims to ensure greater productivity, reduce inequalities, and value the work of family farmers.
Agricultural Modernization and Regional Development in Alagoas
The delivery of equipment by the Promaq Program represents an important development strategy for the state.
According to Minister Carlos Fávaro, the program has been resumed with full force, with plans to distribute 20,000 machines across the country. More than 3,000 units have already been delivered, with significant savings for public coffers, discounts between 33% and 37% off market prices.
A grader that typically costs R$ 1 million, for example, was acquired for R$ 680,000, highlighting the good management of public resources and the expansion of opportunities for the agribusiness sector.
In Alagoas, new deliveries are scheduled for December, benefiting another 25 municipalities.
The goal is to broaden the program’s reach and transform the daily lives of those who live and work in the countryside, ensuring infrastructure and productivity in previously underfunded regions.
Rural Sustainability and Productive Inclusion in the Northeast
Minister Carlos Fávaro also highlighted recent advances in the state, such as the recognition of Alagoas, in 2024, as foot-and-mouth disease free without vaccination, a milestone that reduces costs and opens new international markets.
The Promaq Program, alongside other initiatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, such as the expansion of the Brazilian System for Inspection of Animal Origin Products (Sisbi-POA), strengthens rural sustainability and boosts small and medium producers.
The number of municipalities with the Sisbi seal increased from 331 in 2022 to 1,488 in 2024, a significant growth that enhances the commercialization of animal origin products between states and municipalities.

Infrastructure, Agro-Food Research, and Technological Innovation
Minister Renan Filho emphasized that the equipment delivered by the Promaq Program is essential not only for increasing productivity but also for improving rural infrastructure.
The new machines assist in the flow of production, road recovery, and the mobility of students and rural workers. Renan also announced the inauguration, in December 2025, of the headquarters of Embrapa Alimentos e Territórios, in Maceió.
The unit, focused on agro-food research and the appreciation of regional cuisine, reinforces the government’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and job creation in the countryside.
Among the municipalities benefited are Arapiraca, Maragogi, Murici, São Miguel dos Milagres, Delmiro Gouveia, Rio Largo, and others, totaling 26 locations.
By the end of 2025, Alagoas is expected to receive another 22 machines, totaling 52 delivered equipment.
The Promaq Program thus consolidates itself as a strategic tool for strengthening family agriculture and sustainable development in the Brazilian Northeast.
