The company achieved a positive result, although it did not surpass that of 2021, throughout last year. For 2023, expectations are even better regarding new charter contracts for offshore vessels.
The state-owned oil company Petrobras will have part of the company’s fleet chartered for its exploration projects.
The most significant vessel for the state will be the Safe Zephyrus, which completed its contract with bp at the ETAP in the North Sea of the United Kingdom on December 21, 2022.
Now, the vessel is mobilizing for its journey to Brazil, to start the contract with Petrobras on May 1 of this year.
The contract value for 650 days is about US$ 73 million (equivalent to US$ 112,500 per day).
Meanwhile, the Safe Concordia platform remains idle in Curaçao, awaiting the start of the next project in the Gulf of Mexico, USA.
The expectation for Prosafe’s fleet is that the vessel will be chartered between July and September 2023. The agreed amount for the charter is about US$ 33 million, securing a good contract for the company.
Petrobras Has Two More Contracts with Prosafe for the Chartering of Its Offshore Support Vessel Fleet
In addition to the Safe Zephyrus, Petrobras will receive support from Prosafe’s fleet of vessels for other offshore projects in 2023.
On May 25, 2022, the Safe Eurus signed a four-year contract with Petrobras, starting in February 2023.
The company is only awaiting the end of the current contract to proceed with the chartering by the state-owned company.
Additionally, the Safe Notos will also be out of service for about 30 days in May 2023 for Petrobras contract compliance work.
Beyond the contracts with Petrobras, Prosafe continues with three vessels from its fleet awaiting new offshore projects: the Safe Caledonia, the Safe Boreas, and the Safe Scandinavia.
