What the Central Bank Offers
The internship is promoted by the Department of Studies and Research (Depep), responsible for projects that connect science and innovation to issues in the BC Research Agenda 2021-2024.

Who Can Participate?
The PEPP is aimed exclusively at graduate students (master’s or doctoral) with an interest in applying their academic knowledge to practical and highly relevant topics.

- Must be enrolled in at least the second semester of a master’s or doctoral program in areas such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, among others.
- Must know at least one programming language, such as Python, R, Julia, or Matlab.
- Must have proven academic excellence.
- Must have proficiency in reading and writing in English.
- Must be interested in participating in activities such as economic modeling, data analysis, and writing scientific articles.
Available Research Areas
The program offers four main areas for action, encompassing highly relevant topics for the financial system:
- Line 1: DSGE Models (SAMBA) – (1 position).
- Line 2: Public policies, behavioral economics, and financial education – (3 positions).
- Line 3: Technological innovation, financial stability, and climate impacts – (2 positions).
- Line 4: Labor market and finance, focusing on exchange rate shocks – (1 position).
In lines 2 and 3, there is the possibility of applying machine learning, big data, and advanced georeferencing techniques, providing interns with access to cutting-edge tools.
