Partnership Between Petrobras and IFPR Offers Free Courses with Scholarships of Up to R$ 858, Selection by Lottery, and Certificate for Residents of Curitiba and Surrounding Areas.
The Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR) and Petrobras announced the opening of registrations for two free professional qualification courses, aimed primarily at people in situations of social vulnerability.
The initiative, which is part of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program, represents a new opportunity for those seeking to improve their professional profile and achieve financial autonomy with a monthly financial aid, without the need to take a test for selection.
The offering of free courses is the result of a partnership between Petrobras, IFPR, and the Ênnio de Jesus Pinheiro Amaral Foundation for Support to the Federal Institute of Southern Brazil (FAIFSUL), in addition to other Federal Institutes.

Free Courses at Petrobras: Options and Available Slots
The courses offered by IFPR Campus Curitiba, with in-person classes at the Araucária Campus, cover two areas:
General Services Assistant: 32 slots, workload of 174 hours, duration of four months, with classes from Monday to Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings.
Scaffolding Assembler: 32 slots, workload of 268 hours, duration of five months, with classes in the evening during the week and Saturday mornings.
In total, there are 64 slots equally distributed between the two options, both scheduled to begin in the second semester of 2025.
Benefits of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program
One of the main differentiators of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is the financial aid provided to students throughout the entire training period.
The scholarship amount is R$ 660 per month, increased to R$ 858 per month for women with children under 12 years old.
To guarantee the benefit, a minimum attendance of 75% in in-person classes is required.
This strategy aims to reduce school dropout rates and ensure that more people complete the qualification, enhancing their chances of entering the job market.
Who Can Enroll in Petrobras’ Free Courses
The slots are primarily directed at residents of Araucária, Campo Largo, and Curitiba, municipalities in the area served by the Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (Repar).
To participate, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have completed Elementary School I (1st to 5th grade)
- Live in one of the three indicated municipalities
- Have a family income per capita of up to half a minimum wage
Another highlight is the inclusion policy: the program reserves slots for women, Black and brown individuals, Indigenous people, quilombolas, people with disabilities, transgender individuals, and refugees.
Details About the Format of the Courses and Certification
In addition to in-person instruction, the courses include online tutoring and access to a exclusive educational platform, which facilitates the monitoring of activities, even for those with schedules divided among other commitments.
Approved participants will receive a nationally recognized certificate, valid for qualification proof in public and private selection processes, adding value to their resume.
Registration and Selection Process for Petrobras’ Free Courses
The candidate selection process is completely transparent and democratic.
There will be no testing; the selection of participants will be made through an Electronic Public Lottery, scheduled for August 8, 2025, with live transmission on FAIFSUL’s YouTube channel.
The results and the call for enrollment will be published on August 11, 2025.
Registrations must be made free of charge on IFPR’s website from July 18 to August 1, 2025.
