IF Southeast MG has made 4,600 slots available for the first semester of 2025, covering different fields of knowledge.
Among the options are courses in nursing, occupational safety, IT, agronomy, administration, and nutrition, among others.
The opportunities are spread across 10 cities in Minas Gerais, including Barbacena, Juiz de Fora, and São João Del Rei.
Opportunities for All Levels of Education
According to the announcement, the vacancies include technical, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses, offered in both in-person and remote formats.
The cities served by the selection process are Barbacena, Bom Sucesso, Cataguases, Juiz de Fora, Manhuaçu, Muriaé, Rio Pomba, Santos Dumont, São João Del Rei, and Ubá.
In Barbacena, three new courses will be offered, expanding options for candidates: technical course in food, technical course in events, and technical course in agronomy in the EaD modality.
Additionally, there are already established courses, such as IT and nursing, totaling more than 600 available slots just in this municipality.
Deadline and Application Fees
For those wishing to secure a spot, it is important to pay attention to the deadlines. Registration opens on October 24 and runs until November 17, 2024, and can be done online through the official IF Southeast MG website.
Additionally, there is an option for in-person registration at the campuses, according to the schedules described in the announcement.
Fees vary according to the type of course. For integrated technical courses, where high school is combined with technical education, the registration fee is R$ 25.
Meanwhile, concurrent or subsequent technical courses have a fee of R$ 15. For undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the cost is R$ 50.
Payment must be made by November 18, 2024, exclusively at branches or correspondents of Banco do Brasil.
Fee Waiver: Who is Eligible?
If you meet certain requirements, you can request a fee waiver. Candidates may apply for waiver between October 24 and 31, directly through the selection process website.
However, it is necessary to prove your condition through documents such as a school transcript or a declaration issued by the school.
Among the candidates eligible to request the waiver are those who:
- Completed elementary school in public schools (for integrated technical courses);
- Completed high school in public institutions (for undergraduate and postgraduate);
- Were full scholarship recipients in private or philanthropic schools;
- Completed high school via Encceja or state exams.
How Will the Selection Take Place?
According to the announcement, the selection of candidates varies according to the chosen course.
For concurrent and subsequent technical courses, class formation will be determined by drawing lots, scheduled for January 16, 2025.
For integrated technical courses, candidates will take a test on December 22, 2024, consisting of 45 multiple-choice questions covering subjects like Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Geography, and History.
Those applying for undergraduate positions will also need to take a test on December 22, which will include 45 objective questions and an essay.
The criteria for postgraduate courses, both lato sensu and stricto sensu, depend on each program, as specified in the announcement.
New Courses in Barbacena: Highlight in the Selection Process
Barbacena stands out in this edition of the selection process with the addition of three new technical courses.
The fields of food, events, and agronomy will now be part of the range of options for those seeking professional qualification.
Here are some of the courses offered in Barbacena:
- Technical Course in Food (integrated with high school);
- Technical Course in Events (concurrent/subsequent to high school);
- Technical Course in Agronomy (EaD modality).
These courses have a duration of approximately three years, except for the EaD course, which has a more flexible workload.
