UFJF is offering a specialization in inclusive sports, while UFSJ is launching a distance learning degree in philosophy. Both free and flexible, these opportunities combine inclusion and educational quality. Applications are open for a limited time.

If you believe that quality education and social inclusion are just distant concepts, get ready to learn about initiatives that are transforming Brazilian reality.

Renowned public universities are opening doors to professionals and students from different regions of the country, offering unique opportunities in the distance learning (EAD) modality.

Among the new features are courses that cover everything from inclusive physical activities to degrees in philosophy, attracting those looking for qualifications without leaving home.

According to the universities involved, the proposals aim to expand access to higher education with free and high quality courses.

The initiatives are aimed at both professionals who already work in the area and those who wish to enter fields of knowledge with great social impact.

Inclusive sports and physical activities: training for the future of physical education

The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) is accepting applications for the specialization course in Inclusive Sports and Physical Activities for People with Disabilities.

According to information released by the UFJF Distance Education Center (CEAD), Notice No. 25/2024 provides 165 vacancies distributed among several distance learning centers, offering students a robust education focused on inclusion.

The course, lasting 18 months and with a workload of 360 hours, combines virtual classes with face-to-face meetings at centers spread across the country.

During these face-to-face meetings, practical activities, seminars and assessments will be carried out. The participating hubs include the cities of Andrelândia, Bicas, Boa Esperança, Cataguases and Lagoa Santa, each offering 33 places.

To register, you must have a degree in Physical Education or related areas recognized by the MEC, in addition to meeting the technical requirements, such as access to quality internet and basic computer knowledge.

Applications are open from December 20, 2024 to January 22, 2025, and must be submitted on the official website.

The selection process will be based on the analysis of the required documentation and the evaluation of a letter of intent, with a score from 0 to 100 points.

Candidates should highlight their resume, the relevance of distance education in Brazil and the impact that the specialization will have on their careers. The final result will be published on February 3, 2025 on the CEAD website.

Philosophy: reflection and inclusion in a flexible course

Another unmissable opportunity is offered by the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ).

As disclosed by the institution itself, the undergraduate course in Philosophy in the EAD modality has 150 vacancies open for the first semester of 2025.

Registration will be carried out in two stages: from January 17 to 21 for public school teachers and from February 19 to 21 for candidates from social demands.

The vacancies are distributed between the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, including centers in Araxá, Araçuaí, Cubatão, São Paulo and Tarumã.

The flexibility of the distance learning modality allows students to combine their studies with other responsibilities, ensuring a complete and accessible education.

For public school teachers, the selection process will be carried out by drawing lots, while the other candidates will be evaluated based on their ENEM scores from the 2022, 2023 or 2024 editions.

The final result will be announced in January 2025 on the official website.

Why invest in distance education?

Distance education has established itself as an effective alternative for democratizing access to higher education in Brazil.

In addition to meeting the needs of those living in remote regions, distance learning courses offer flexibility and cost reduction for students and institutions.

According to experts, initiatives such as those of UFJF and UFSJ are fundamental to strengthening the training of qualified professionals who are prepared to face the challenges of the job market.

The possibility of studying at a federal university, with adequate structure and support, represents a great competitive advantage for students.

How to Apply

To enroll in courses, access the links provided by the universities and read the notices carefully.
