Aiming to democratize education and reduce social inequalities, the project has already trained thousands of students since its inception and is now expanding its reach with new centers in São Paulo, Osasco, and an EAD platform that allows youth from all regions of the country to participate.

These and other projects were created during the Criar Jogos Labs course, which is now arriving in São Paulo with its inaugural class scheduled for August 29, Gamer Day, at Fábrica de Cultura, Núcleo Taipas, in Brasilândia, north zone, at 2 PM. In addition to in-person classes, the course has an EAD center that allows young people from all over Brazil to participate, creating a vast network of connections from north to south of the country.
The in-person classes will begin in September, with spots still available for those wishing to learn how to develop electronic games in Brasilândia, Vila Califórnia, and Osasco, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (check the link and addresses at the end of the article). For those not in these regions, training is also available online, facilitating access for young people from anywhere in Brazil to the quality content offered by Criar Jogos Labs.
A fourth class of Criar Jogos Labs will begin in Camaçari, at the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA). The course, both in-person and online, is aimed at beginners in the world of games.
The topics covered in the course include digital literacy, game culture, script and narrative creation, programming, audio editing, game design, art and interface, as well as prototype creation – the best will be awarded at the end of the course.
“The goal is to reduce social inequalities,” explains Priscila Seixas from Burburinho Cultural, responsible for Criar Jogos Labs. Since the first class, held in 2022 in Aglomerado da Serra, Belo Horizonte, over five thousand people have already registered, and now, with the EAD platform, this number is expected to grow even further, democratizing education and expanding the project’s reach.

Registrations for Criar Jogos Labs are open and can be made for both in-person centers and the online modality. There are 300 spots available, distributed among the centers in Brasilândia, Vila Califórnia, and Osasco, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
