Free EAD Language Courses Will Reach New Municipalities in 2026 and Expand Opportunities for Those Who Want to Study English and Spanish.
In 2026, the government of Acre will expand the offering of free EAD language courses, bringing English and Spanish education to new border municipalities.
The initiative, coordinated by the State Department of Education and Culture, serves public school students and the general community, strengthens access to education, and creates new opportunities for qualification in different regions of Brazil.
The expansion will now include Assis Brasil, Capixaba, and Plácido de Castro, through the Language Study Center, with fully online classes.

With this decision, the state reinforces the democratization of education and expands the reach of free courses, especially in areas where access to in-person language learning is still limited. In addition, the EAD model allows more people to study flexibly, balancing routine, work, and educational training.
Expansion of Free EAD Courses Strengthens Language Education in Acre
Currently, the Language Study Center already serves students from municipalities such as Acrelândia, Brasileia, Epitaciolândia, Feijó, Sena Madureira, Tarauacá, and Xapuri. Starting in 2026, with the inclusion of border municipalities, the program will expand its social and educational impact.
Thus, the advancement of free EAD language courses strengthens public education policy and expands opportunities for students living outside the major centers. Therefore, distance learning consolidates as a strategic tool for educational development in Brazil.
Live Classes and Digital Platform Expand EAD Opportunities
The classes are broadcast live from the Media Center of Education of Acre, in Rio Branco. Additionally, students access a digital platform with recorded video lessons, supplementary activities, and support materials.
This format ensures more flexibility while maintaining constant interaction between teachers and students. Thus, EAD becomes more than just a technological resource; it transforms into an active learning experience focused on practical mastery of languages.
Real-Time Interaction Improves Language Learning
According to Ghislaine de Arruda, the coordinator of CEL EAD, interaction during online classes is essential for learning. “Live classes are important because the student needs to interact, practice, and put the language to use. They interact with the teacher and classmates in a virtual classroom, as if it were in person,” she explains.
As a result, the free EAD courses increase student participation and reduce dropout rates. Furthermore, the constant practice enhances the opportunities for effective learning, especially for those who are starting to study languages.
Border Municipalities Gain Priority in Free Courses
The choice of Assis Brasil, Capixaba, and Plácido de Castro considers the strategic location of these cities. Being on the border with Bolivia, access to Spanish education becomes even more relevant, without neglecting the importance of English.
“These are border municipalities with Bolivia, and it is very important for students and the community to have access to foreign language learning, especially Spanish, while also having the opportunity to learn English,” emphasizes the coordinator.
Thus, the free EAD language courses will also serve a role in regional integration and social strengthening in Brazil.
Who Can Enroll in the Free EAD Language Courses
The priority audience consists of students from the state public network, from the 8th grade of elementary school to high school. However, if there are vacancies available, the general community will also be able to enroll.
This opening significantly expands opportunities, allowing adults who previously lacked access to language education to participate in the free courses and broaden their educational and professional prospects.
Enrollment Announcement Will Be Released in January 2026
The announcement with all information regarding the free EAD language courses will be published in January 2026. The Language Study Center will disclose the complete schedule, enrollment rules, and access links on its official website.
With the expansion of offerings, Acre reaffirms its commitment to public education. The state increases access to language education, strengthens EAD, and creates new opportunities for students and border communities.
