The Federal Institute of North Minas Gerais (IFNMG) opened free spots for E-learning and semi-presential courses with a symbolic fee and centers in several mining cities. Registration is from October 17 to November 17, 2025.
The Federal Institute of North Minas Gerais (IFNMG) opened 1,380 spots for undergraduate free courses in E-learning and semi-presential modalities, with registration from October 17 to November 17, 2025 and a fee of R$ 10.
The classes will have mandatory in-person meetings at centers located in various cities in North Minas and nearby regions, which requires candidates to have easy access to their chosen location.
Free Courses Offered by IFNMG
The offer includes four undergraduate programs with an average duration of four years.

In the management area, the Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration (E-learning) will offer spots at different centers.
In the municipalities of Buritizeiro and Carlos Chagas, there will be 50 spots per center.
In Capelinha, Itamarandiba, Jaíba, João Pinheiro, and Novo Cruzeiro, the number is 40 spots per center.
The course is entirely free, but will have in-person sessions, as per the distance education rules of the institute.
In the area of teacher education and sciences, IFNMG will offer a Degree in Biological Sciences (semi-presential) with 40 spots at each of the centers in Araçuaí, Corinto, Francisco Sá, Mantena, Padre Paraíso, Porteirinha, and Taiobeiras.
The proposal combines online components with practical activities and in-person assessments at the centers.
Another opportunity is the Degree in Libras Literature (semi-presential), also with 40 spots per center, planned for Bocaiuva, Corinto, Jaíba, Januária, and João Pinheiro.
The program aims to prepare teachers for teaching Libras and for acting in educational contexts that serve deaf students, with significant in-person load to ensure linguistic and methodological mastery.
Additionally, the Degree in Pedagogy (semi-presential) will offer 40 spots per center in a wide network of municipalities: Araçuaí, Jequitinhonha, Joaíma, Montes Azul, Pompéu, Porteirinha, Rio Pardo de Minas, Turmalina, Várzea da Palma, Bocaiuva, Buritis, Janaúba, Januária, Itamarandiba, Paracatu, Padre Paraíso, Pedra Azul, and Urucuia.
The extensive list allows candidates distributed across different territories to compete for spots closer to their residences.
In-Person Meetings and Accessibility
Although two of the offerings are E-learning and the others semi-presential, all require mandatory in-person meetings.
The IFNMG indicates that students need to have easy access to the selected center to fulfill activities such as assessments, laboratory practices, seminars, and academic guidance.

In the E-learning courses, at least 10% of the workload will occur in person.

In Biological Sciences (semi-presential), the centers are Araçuaí, Corinto, Francisco Sá, Mantena, Padre Paraíso, Porteirinha, and Taiobeiras, all with 40 spots.
For Libras Literature (semi-presential), the offer extends to Bocaiuva, Corinto, Jaíba, Januária, and João Pinheiro, also with 40 spots per locality.
In Pedagogy (semi-presential), the map is broader, reaching 18 centers and maintaining 40 spots at each.
