University of China Is Open for Applications for Brazilian Students. Scholarships in China Seek Professionals from Various Fields and Cover All Expenses.

Tsinghua University, located in Beijing (China), has opened applications for the Schwarzman Scholars program, which offers scholarships in China for professional master’s degree courses. The initiative lasts for one year and aims to build a global community of future leaders that will deepen the understanding between China and the world.

How Does the Program Offered by the University of China Work for Brazilians?

The scholarships in China cover all costs of the master’s program and include airfare to the Asian country, on-campus housing, meals, health insurance, and a personal computer. There is also an additional amount to cover extra living expenses and travel within China.

The scholarship program is structured in an immersive format, where students interact with each other both inside and outside the classroom. All costs are covered. The dormitories where the Scholars live are in the same building within Tsinghua, and meals and study schedules are conducted together.

In addition to traditional classes, participants in the University of China program also have access to lectures, a mentoring program, and may have the opportunity to participate in internships, visits, tours, and develop projects in collaboration with local companies and organizations.

Focusing on global integration, the program’s advisory board includes figures such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, as well as presidents and former presidents of Yale and Duke universities.

In the program, scholars at the University of China have the opportunity to connect with an influential network of international leaders from various sectors, both during lectures and extracurricular activities.

Who Can Apply for Scholarships in China?

Applicants for the University of China scholarships must be between 18 and 28 years old, hold a completed undergraduate degree in any field, and demonstrate proficiency in English. Accepted tests include TOEFL (with a minimum score of 100 on the iBT test or 600 on the paper test) or IELTS (with a minimum score of 7).

Applicants for scholarships in China must also submit three letters of recommendation, two essays (one personal, explaining how the program will help their career and detailing leadership skills, and a second text on current events), in addition to a resume and complete academic transcript.

Students may also choose to record a video of up to one minute introducing themselves. Applicants who have not yet completed their undergraduate degree may apply for the scholarships in China if they complete the course this semester and present the diploma by this August. More information and the application process can be found on the program’s website. Interested individuals must apply by September 12.

Benefits of Studying in China and Taking Advantage of Scholarships Abroad

It is worth noting that Tsinghua University is considered the best in China and is among the top 20 in the world, according to QS Ranking. In Brazil, when a student receives a scholarship, they generally find themselves more restricted to the local market after completing their course. Additionally, it is common for scholarships in Brazil to cover only a portion of the costs, requiring the student to cover the remaining expenses, without offering many additional benefits.

On the other hand, scholarships abroad provide a significant advantage for those wishing to build an international career. Many of these scholarships cover costs more comprehensively, with some covering 100% of expenses. Furthermore, it is common for foreign institutions to offer extra benefits, such as student housing, special visas, and the opportunity to work during studies, which can be an excellent opportunity to supplement income and gain professional experience.
