Starting on September 5, 2024, registrations will be open for the selection process offering 3,584 slots for technical courses of secondary education integrated with high school.
The courses are distributed across 22 campuses of IFRN, and classes are scheduled to begin in the first semester of 2025. The opportunities are spread across various fields of knowledge, attracting young people who wish to combine technical education with regular schooling.
Registrations Open! Stay Alert for Dates
According to the notice released by IFRN, registrations start on September 5, 2024, at 2 PM, and go until November 1.
The process must be done through the Candidate Area, on the website of the Support Foundation for Education and Technological Development of RN (Funcern).
The registration fee is R$ 50, but those interested in requesting an exemption have until September 17 to do so. The exemption request is made by filling out a form, also available in the Candidate Area.

How the Exams Work at IFRN
The selection process will consist of three exams, covering Portuguese Language (20 multiple-choice questions), Mathematics (20 multiple-choice questions), and Written Text Production.
According to the notice, candidates will be able to access the Registration Card starting October 14, 2024.
This document, which will be available in the Candidate Area, indicates the exam location and other essential information for the exam day. The exams will be held on October 20, 2024, and the final results will be announced on December 20, 2024.
ProITEC Bonus: A Differentiator to Enhance Your Chances
Students enrolled in ProITEC 2024 will also have an advantage in the selection process. According to the notice’s rules, the scores obtained in the Portuguese Language, Mathematics, and Ethics and Citizenship exams will be used as a bonus in the Selection Exam scores.
The bonus is calculated on a normalized score of 100 points, being 4% for the Portuguese Language and Mathematics exams and 1% for Ethics and Citizenship.
Heteroidentification: Mandatory Process for Self-Declared Black and Indigenous Individuals
Candidates who self-declare as black or indigenous in the IFRN selection process must undergo the heteroidentification procedure, regulated by the Institute’s Superior Council (Consup/IFRN).
According to the resolution from IFRN, the procedure will be conducted by a specialized committee that will assess the candidate’s self-declaration.
Students who self-declare as black, for example, must attend the Local Heteroidentification Committee between December 2 and 9, 2024, to confirm their self-declaration and sign the image authorization.
The verification will include a recording of the procedure, in which candidates must show the backs of their hands and their facial profile.
