The objective is to fill 29 job vacancies for the position of Traffic Officer, a role that requires a high school diploma and offers an initial salary of R$ 3,522. Applications will start on September 23, 2024, and will go until November 7, 2024. About the Public Competitive Exam
The 29 job vacancies available in this public competitive exam are distributed as follows: 21 for open competition, two reserved for people with disabilities, and six for black candidates, according to the city hall’s inclusion policies.
Among the requirements for the position, in addition to completing high school, it is necessary to hold a National Driver’s License (CNH) in categories “A” and “B”.

Other requirements include a minimum height of 1.65 m for men and 1.60 m for women, moral integrity, and being 18 years old or older.
These criteria aim to ensure that the candidates are fit to efficiently and responsibly perform the duties of a Traffic Officer.
Exams and Stages of the Public Competitive Exam
The public competitive exam will take place on December 15 and will consist of 40 questions, divided between Portuguese language, mathematics, and specific knowledge about the Traffic Officer position.
There will be 10 questions on the Portuguese language, 10 on mathematics, and 20 questions on specific knowledge, totaling 40 points.
In addition to the objective exam, candidates will undergo an anthropometric evaluation and a physical fitness test, both of which are eliminatory.
The physical evaluation differs for men and women, with exercises measuring endurance, strength, and speed.
Men will, for example, need to perform 13 push-ups in one minute and cover 1,899 meters in 12 minutes. Women will need to do 15 push-ups and cover 1,599 meters in the same time frame.
After these phases, candidates will also face a psychological evaluation, specific medical exams, toxicology tests, and a social and behavioral investigation, all of which are eliminatory.
These stages of the public competitive exam aim to ensure that the candidates have the physical, mental, and moral conditions necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Applications and Results Announcement

The registration fee is R$ 70.00, and payment must be made by the last day of the registration period.
Candidates who meet the exemption criteria, such as the unemployed or those registered in the Federal Government’s Social Programs Unified Registry (CadÚnico), may request an exemption from the fee.
The locations and times of the objective exams will be announced on December 7, 2024, and the preliminary answer keys will be published on December 16, 2024.
From then on, candidates may submit appeals if they disagree with any question. The final answer keys will be released on January 18, 2025.
After the validation of the results, which will occur in the early months of 2025, approved candidates will be called as needed by the city hall.
The public competitive exam will be valid for two years from the results’ validation. This period can be extended for another two years at the discretion of the São Carlos City Hall.
This means that candidates approved in the public competitive exam who are not immediately called may be summoned throughout this period as new job vacancies or replacements arise.
