The Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) Has Just Opened Applications for Eight Free Courses, Exclusively for Women Aged 16 to 29 in Situations of Social Vulnerability.

There are 1,580 spots distributed by UFAM in four cities of the state: Careiro, Iranduba, Itacoatiara, and Manaus. Applications are open until November 14, and the courses aim to strengthen the professional training of women in more vulnerable conditions, as well as to include people with disabilities and the LGBTQIAP+ community.

With a workload of 200 hours, UFAM’s free courses were designed to ensure practical training and provide a real opportunity for growth and autonomy. In addition to the classes, students will have access to all necessary materials at no cost.

Courses for Various Areas and Market Demands

These free courses from UFAM are a response to the current needs for inclusion and professional qualification, focusing on areas that have demand and relevance for the Amazon region.

The training offered covers different areas of knowledge, addressing both environmental and sustainable development issues as well as administrative functions. Check out the complete list of courses offered below:

  • Socio-Environmental Development Agent
  • Environmental Inspection Assistant
  • Solid Waste Management Agent
  • Cleaning and Conservation Agent
  • Digital Inclusion Agent in Centers
  • Indigenous Craftsperson
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Human Resources Assistant

Each course has a workload of 200 hours, designed to provide a comprehensive and practical overview of each area. For example, the Socio-Environmental Development Agent course has an approach focused on sustainability, an essential theme in the Amazon region.

The Indigenous Craftsperson course values local culture and helps students develop artisanal production skills that can be applied in their own businesses or cooperatives.

How the Selection Process Works

The selection process for UFAM’s free courses is simple and accessible. Women aged 16 to 29 who are in situations of social vulnerability can apply until November 14.

No application fee is required, making the opportunity even more inclusive. UFAM prioritizes access for Black, Indigenous, quilombola, riverside dwellers, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQIAP+ community, seeking to promote diversity and inclusion in the classes.

Classes will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 6 PM to 9:30 PM, ensuring that students can balance their daily commitments with their training. All teaching material will be provided by the institution, and the course will be taught by specialized teachers with market experience committed to quality education.
