The Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) has announced the opening of the selection process to form a reserve list of tutors for undergraduate courses in the Distance Education (EAD) modality. With the growing demand for EAD courses, UFMA, through the Directorate of Educational Technologies (DTED), is offering positions for tutors in courses such as Administration, Public Administration, Visual Arts, Biology, Computer Science, Physical Education, Physics, Sign Language, Portuguese Linguistics, Mathematics, Pedagogy, and Chemistry. The selected candidates will work at the poles of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) in Maranhão, with registrations open from June 10 to July 10, 2024.
The selected tutors will be responsible for mediating communication between teachers and students, monitoring student performance, participating in training sessions, and grading assignments. Additionally, they must attend meetings and synchronous and asynchronous activities, promoting a collaborative and effective learning environment.

Who Can Participate
Interested candidates must meet specific requirements, such as having a minimum of one year of teaching experience and at least a bachelor’s degree in the desired course area. Benefits
The scholarships offered for EAD tutors are in the amount of R$ 1,100.00 per month, paid directly by CAPES. It is important to emphasize that these scholarships do not create an employment relationship with UFMA, serving as an incentive for participation in the UAB program.
